Post data shows a significant increase in flight traffic on D-6 Christmas 2022
Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II activated the 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year Monitoring Post from 19 December 2022 to 3 January 2023 at all of the company's 20 airports.
The opening of the posts at AP II airports is in line with the convening of posts at the Ministry of Transportation Headquarters which were opened directly by the Minister of Transportation.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the Nataru Post at AP II airport had key performance indicators (KPI) in the operational and service areas.
"The KPI of the Nataru Post at all AP II airports is to maintain standards in the operational and service areas amid increasing flight traffic. Nataru Command Post to maintain the performance of human resources (people), infrastructure on the air and land side (facilities) and various procedures (process) running."
"Posko is a place for AP II and airport stakeholders to coordinate and collaborate to support a safe, secure, comfortable and healthy Christmas and New Year's trip," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin said the command post at AP II airport has three main tasks, namely first as a monitoring and inspection post to ensure that security, safety, service and health aspects can run well.
Then the second task is as a data monitoring post to see air traffic trends every day, and the third task is to prepare various mitigation measures to prevent and handle conditions that could disrupt airport services and operations.
"Through data from the command post, we can see flight traffic directly. On the first day of monitoring, namely 19 December 2022 (H-6 Christmas), we can see a significant increase in flight traffic at 20 AP II airports of around 27% compared to the same period last year, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Based on post data, the cumulative number of passenger movements on December 19, 2022 at 20 AP II airports (data as of December 20 at 11.09 WIB) was 212,942 people, an increase of around 27% compared to the same period last year of 168,011 people. Meanwhile, the number of flights increased by around 20% to 1,674 flights.
Specifically at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, passenger movements reached 132,548 people, up 27% from the previous 104,601 people, and the number of flights totaled 938 flights or an increase of 13% compared to the previous 787 flights.
Muhammad Awaluddin said the trend of increasing air traffic was of concern to AP II and stakeholders.
"AP II and stakeholders must pay great attention to services amid increasing flights. If there is an issue related to services or facilities, it must be resolved immediately. It can't take hours to complete, let alone more than 1 day, everything has to move quickly, coordinate and collaborate closely," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
AP II Director of Commercial & Services M. Rizal Pahlevi said collaboration between stakeholders must always be improved to maintain service standards.
"Through the post, stakeholders can improve coordination and collaboration so as to ensure that services are maintained," said M. Rizal Pahlevi.
AP II Director of Operation Muhamad Wasid said the command post could also ensure flight operations during the Nataru period could run smoothly amidst high traffic.
"The Nataru Monitoring Post at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also strengthened by the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) to support airport and flight operations, as well as the Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC) to monitor airport utility facilities and systems," said Muhamad Wasid.
In addition, Soekarno-Hatta Airport also alerted the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) which is in the AOCC building. The EOC is only activated if there is an emergency, as a command center for airport stakeholders in making policies to deal with emergencies.
The EOC is also strengthened by the Mobile Command Post (MCP) as a mobile command post to respond quickly when an emergency occurs.
The flight traffic at AP II airport is expected to continue on an increasing trend until it reaches its peak on December 23, 2022 (H-2 Christmas).
