Bella moves autonomously to interact directly with the traveler
Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II introduces robot waiters to travelers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten) and Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang).
The robot maid is named Bella, who interacts directly with travelers and is tasked with serving travelers during the peak season for Christmas and New Year transportation from 19 December 2022 to 3 January 2023.
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Bella is on duty alternately at the boarding lounge in Terminal 3 (domestic and international) as well as Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 to go around greeting travelers, as well as distributing free snacks, drinks and hand sanitizers.
Bella's duties are the same at Kualanamu Airport, namely greeting travelers and distributing food and soft drinks and hand sanitizers to travelers in the boarding lounge for domestic and international departures.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Bella's presence among travelers was one of the company's efforts to continuously provide technology-based and world-class services.
"There are 2 units of Bella robots presented in the middle of the Christmas and New Year transportation period. 1 unit introduced at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and 1 other unit at Kualanamu Airport. Bella's presence is a step forward for AP II in implementing robot technology in serving travelers."
"We hope that the Bella robot can also entertain travelers in the midst of the peak season for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The presence of the Bella robot is a special service during the Nataru transportation period to create good customer experiences, as well as appreciation from AP II to travelers," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said the Bella robot was part of the service evolution being launched by AP II at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and other company airports.
Bella's operations are monitored by PT Angkasa Pura Solusi (APS), which is a subsidiary of AP II.
APS Main Director Dorma Manalu said the Bella robot could operate a maximum of 6-8 hours per day.
"The Bella robot can move independently or autonomously (autonomously) in going around greeting travelers. Bella is equipped with sensors and 360-degree cameras to interact directly with customers," said Dorma Manalu.
The Bella robot completes the range of robots that have been operated at Soekarno-Hatta Airport such as robotic scrubber driers, baggage towing tractors, DiLo robots, as well as public transportation that can also be operated autonomously, namely the Skytrain to connect each terminal at the airport.
umrah lounge
In order to maintain service standards amidst the peak season period of Christmas and New Year, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also opened an Umrah lounge located in the GCC area or close to the Airport Train Station location.
The Umrah lounge is equipped with a VIP room, regular room, canteen, cafe and a very large parking area.
The purpose of this Umrah lounge is as a waiting area or meeting point for Umrah pilgrims before departure to the Holy Land, so that pilgrims can be more comfortable.
"GCC's Umrah lounge will serve pilgrims who use flights via Terminal 3 with the criteria of an estimated departure time of 5 hours ahead," said Dorma Manalu.
The opening of the Umrah lounge is also to support the optimization of Terminal 3 amidst an increase in flight traffic during this peak season.
Tourism Activity Center
Another facility presented at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Minangkabau Airport (Padang) during the Christmas and New Year transportation period is the Tourism Activity Center (TAC).
TAC is a center for tourism information and promotion services, activation of tourism activities, a center for Indonesian cultural education, as well as a marketing facility for MSME products and handicrafts from all provinces.
More than that, TAC itself will present a variety of activation activities to promote Indonesian tourism, including through a Cultural Parade featuring traditional clothes, traditional musical instruments and regional arts from all provinces in Indonesia.
The presence of TAC is expected to be able to support traveler's trips during the Nataru holiday period and improve the customer experience while the traveler is at the airport.
