Soekarno-Hatta Airport opens Umrah lounge starting December 18
Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II ensures that the 20 airports managed by the company are ready to welcome the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holiday periods.
The number of passenger movements at 20 airports during Nataru transportation from 19 December 2022 to 4 January 2023 (H-6 Christmas and H + 2 New Years) is projected to be 2.54 million passengers, an increase of 26.36% compared to the same period last year of 2.01 million passenger.
Meanwhile, aircraft movements are predicted to be 20,349 flights, an increase of 6.56% from the previous 19,096 flights.
AP II airports namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Kualanamu (Medan), Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Banda Aceh), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjungpinang).
Then, Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Depati Amir (Pangkal Pinang), Silangit (North Tapanuli), Kertajati (Majalengka), Banyuwangi (Banyuwangi), Tjilik Riwut (Palangkaraya), Radin Inten II (Lampung), H.A.S Hanandjoeddin (Tanjung Pandan) , Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), and General Soedirman (Purbalingga).
"In accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Transportation, AP II ensures the readiness of 20 airports and we all hope that the implementation of Christmas and New Year transportation will run safely, securely, comfortably and healthily," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin added, "Coordination and communication of all stakeholders at the AP II airport are ensured to run well and intensively to ensure that operations and services for aircraft passengers can be optimal in the midst of peak season."
As an effort to maintain stakeholder coordination, AP II established 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year Monitoring Posts at 20 airports on 19 December 2022 - 3 January 2023.
"Posko is also to monitor real time flight data so that AP II can always maintain security, service and health aspects in the midst of a pandemic," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
AP II Director of Operations Muhamad Wasid said Soekarno-Hatta Airport was the busiest airport during the Nataru transportation with an estimated number of passengers of 1.38 million passengers and 10,052 aircraft flights.
"Preparations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport include a terminal capacity balancing program, in which operational transfers of all Lion Air Group international flights are carried out from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2F starting December 16, 2022 so that each terminal can be optimal," said Muhamad Wasid.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport also opened a temporary Umrah lounge in the GCC area which is located close to the Airport Train Station to support Terminal 3 in accommodating the increase in passengers. Umrah lounges are equipped with VIP rooms, regular rooms, as well as various facilities such as prayer rooms, cafes and canteens, so that Umrah travel agents can use them as meeting points or waiting rooms for Umrah pilgrims.
"The GCC Umrah Lounge opens December 18, 2022 so that the increase in passengers at Terminal 3 during the year-end peak season can be handled properly," said Muhamad Wasid.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also strengthened by the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) for stakeholders to manage airport and flight operations; Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC) to monitor airport facilities; as well as the Land Transportation Control Center (LTCC) to monitor land transportation.
AP II Director of Commercial and Service M. Rizal Pahlevi said that as an effort to increase passenger satisfaction during peak season, Soekarno-Hatta Airport presents Thematic Decoration and Thematic Event.
"Various events have been prepared at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, namely choirs, music performances, New Year's Eve Gala to esport competitions and a special Mother's Day event on December 22. We want airplane passengers to feel comfortable during the peak season," explained M. Rizal Pahlevi.
In addition, to increase the comfort of aircraft passengers, AP II has also arranged the interior design of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport with the Indonesian Gate concept in the domestic departure gate area and domestic check-in area.
AP II Director of Engineering Agus Wialdi said the infrastructure at 20 airports was confirmed to be ready to serve airplane passengers during the Nataru transportation period.
"The infrastructure on the air side and on the ground side is confirmed to be ready. On the air side, for example, the runway overlay (thickening) was carried out at HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport (Belitung) and Tjilik Riwut Airport (Palangkaraya)," said Agus Wialdi.
Regarding personnel, AP II has prepared 6,231 personnel for the Nataru transportation consisting of operational personnel (Aviation Security, Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting, Airport Movement Control, BKO TNI/Polri); service personnel (customer service, terminal inspection service, digital service, etc.) and engineering.
