Starting December 16, the list of airlines in each terminal of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Lion Air International Flights will move to Terminal 2F

13 Dec 2022

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II informed that starting December 16, 2022 all Lion Air Group international flights (Lion Air, Batik Air, Batik Air Malaysia and Thai Lion Air) will be served through Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport from currently on Terminal 3.

The relocation of Lion Air's international flight operations is part of a terminal capacity balancing program at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport is entering a recovery period in the midst of this pandemic where the recovery rate has reached 80-90%, in the sense that flight traffic is currently around 80-90% from 2019 conditions when there was no pandemic."

"Following this increase in flights, AP II is carrying out a capacity rebalancing program by distributing flights evenly in Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 so that service and operational standards can be maintained," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Dwi Ananda Wicaksana said that preparations had been made by all stakeholders to ensure Terminal 2F was ready to accommodate all Lion Air Group international flights.

"Close coordination has been carried out between AP II as the airport operator, the Immigration, Customs and Excise Office, the Quarantine Center, Lion Air Group, AirNav Indonesia as the flight navigation service provider, then ground handling and other stakeholders to ensure the transfer of all Lion Air international flight operations to Terminal 2F from 16 December 2022.”

"Prospective airplane passengers are advised to pay attention to information from AP II as the operator of Soekarno-Hatta Airport and also from Lion Air Group regarding the transfer of this international flight operation," said Dwi Ananda Wicaksana.

Dwi Ananda said that AP II is currently revitalizing Terminal 2F on a regular basis to increase comfort for passengers.

"Terminal 2F is confirmed to be ready to accommodate Lion Air Group international flights. Every day, it is estimated that the number of Lion Air Group international flights at Terminal 2F is around 32 flights (total take off and landing) with 6,169 passengers (total departure and arrival)," said Dwi Ananda.

AP II also ensures the availability of public transportation at Terminal 2F, starting from buses, taxis, to the skytrain to get to the Airport Train Station.

The move to Lion Air Group's international flights is also part of AP II's efforts to balance flight traffic at each terminal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

With this move, aircraft movements in Terminal 3 will decrease by 19% and aircraft passengers will decrease by 9.8%.

"The capacity rebalancing program at the terminal makes flight traffic evenly distributed in Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 so that service and operational standards can be maintained," explained Dwi Ananda.

Dwi Ananda said that the capacity rebalancing program is also to ensure the best service for travelers as they enter the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 holiday periods.

Meanwhile, Lion Air Group appreciates the efforts of AP II and other stakeholders in ensuring the smooth transfer of international flight operations to Terminal 2F.

"Lion Air Group would like to thank you for the coordination and cooperation with airport managers - PT Angkasa Pura II, regulators, AirNav Indonesia, and other related partners, in facilitating and expediting the process of air travel for every passenger," said Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group Danang Mandala Prihantoro.
