Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II as the manager of 20 airports in Indonesia is continuously improving services to travelers, including those related to sanitation facilities.

In the period July - September 2022, AP II together with the Indonesian Toilet Association conducted an audit of toilets at AP II airport, as an effort to always improve service standards and toilet facilities and maintain the health aspect.

The Indonesian Toilet Association (ATI) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose goal is to provide transformation and education about clean and healthy Indonesian toilets.

AP II Director of Commercial & Services M. Rizal Pahlevi said an audit by an independent institution objectively helps AP II measure the reliability of public facilities at the airport.

"A competent independent agency can assess public facilities at the airport, and the audit results become the basis for AP II to evaluate to continuously improve services to travelers."

"A toilet audit by ATI is carried out on 5 aspects, namely design & EMS (environment, management system), cleanliness, amenities & facilities, safety/cleaning services, and user appreciation. The audit results are very valuable for us to always maintain and improve service standards in every aspect," said M. Rizal Pahlevi.

Based on the audit, Terminal 3 toilets at Soekarno-Hatta Airport received the highest rating, namely 4 Gold Stars.

This 4 Gold Star rating reflects that the facilities in all areas of the toilet, nursery and janitor are complete and functioning properly, the amenities (amenities) for users are up to standard, good cleanliness in all areas, the officers are in accordance with grooming and understand the duties and use of tools, the toilet has aesthetics good design, toilets have eco-friendly facilities, and users report high satisfaction in using the toilets.

"The results of an audit by ATI show that the toilet at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the best toilet with a Gold 4 Star rating. Audit results at other airports on average get 3 Gold Stars and 4 Silver Stars. The toilets in Terminal 3 will be used as a reference for other airports to improve services so they can provide the best in terms of sanitation facilities for travelers," explained M. Rizal Pahlevi.

Airport toilets that received a Gold 3 Star rating include Minangkabau Airport (Padang), Supadio (Pontianak), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Sultah Mahmud Badaruddin (Palembang), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh), Sisingamangaraja XII (Silangit), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), and Tjilik Riwut (Palangkaraya).

The total number of toilets in Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is 132 in the domestic and international areas, consisting of 66 male toilet units and 66 female toilet units.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport EGM Dwi Ananda Wicaksana said the 4 Gold Star title given to the toilets in Terminal 3 was also an appreciation for the officers.

“The role of the toilet attendant is very big in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and comfort of the toilet. We thank the officers who have carried out their duties properly so that the toilets in Terminal 3 won the highest score. We also thank the travelers who help maintain the cleanliness and comfort of the toilet. In the future, we will encourage toilets in all terminals to achieve the 4 Gold Star title," said Dwi Ananda.

Chairman of the Indonesian Toilet Association (ATI) Naning Adiwoso in his report said that overall the condition of toilets at AP II airports was quite good and officers understood their duties.

"Toilets are one of the important areas that must be considered in terms of cleanliness, especially in the post-pandemic era, so consistency in cleaning toilets must be maintained and support is needed by providing equipment for cleaning according to its designation and using environmentally friendly cleaning materials. ,” said Naning Adiwoso.

The toilet audit is also an effort by AP II to maintain the health aspect at the airport.

AP II's efforts to maintain the health aspect also received appreciation from the Ministry of Health which awarded the 2022 Healthy Airport award to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang) and Sultan Thaha (Jambi).
