6 AP II Airports won ASQ Awards from ACI

Jakarta - Indonesia has an airport with three championship titles as the best in the Asia Pacific region based on aircraft passenger ratings.

At the Airport Service Quality Awards 2021 held by the Airport Council International (ACI) in Krakow, Poland, September 14, 2022, Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi managed by PT Angkasa Pura II was announced to have won the Best Airport by Size and Region 2021 award (under 2 million passenger). per year in Asia-Pacific).

The award given complements the similar titles that have been achieved by Sultan Thaha Airport in 2020 and 2018.

Director of Commercial and Services AP II Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi said the success of Sultan Thaha Airport in sealing the third title as the best in Asia Pacific was a trigger to always provide the best service at all airports managed by the company.

"We are grateful for the support of the Jambi community so that Sultan Thaha Airport can achieve this very prestigious title. Sultan Thaha Airport is committed to being able to maintain trust and always be the pride of the Jambi people."

"In the last 4 years, in the 2018-2021 period to be exact, Sultan Thaha Airport managed to become the best 3 times for the Best Airport by Size and Region category (under 2 million passengers per year in Asia-Pacific). Being the best for 3 times in the last 4 years proves the consistency of Sultan Thaha Airport in providing the best for travelers," said Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi.

Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi added that the survey of travelers was carried out very complex and according to ACI standards, to get survey results that are truly factual.

"The award from ACI as an organization that oversees all airports in the world also shows that Sultan Thaha Airport is able to provide the best service to travelers in any condition, including in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi.

The ASQ Awards itself is an annual event held by ACI to give awards to airports around the world based on traveler experiences from the results of the Departure Survey and Arrival Survey, which measures, among others, various commercial facilities; various public facilities such as toilets; WiFi reliability; quality of service personnel; aircraft passenger flow (waiting time at the security check point, waiting time in line at check-in, walking distance inside the terminal); executive/business lounge; and flight information display system.

Executive General Manager of Sultan Thaha Airport Siswanto said that the success of Sultan Thaha Airport in winning 3 titles as the best in Asia Pacific cannot be separated from the new terminal which has been operating since 27 December 2015.

"This new terminal has an area of about 12,000 square meters which can accommodate up to 1.6 million passengers per year. In line with this new terminal, service standards and airport operations have also increased," said Siswantom

With a modern, classy design and still prioritizing local wisdom, the new terminal makes Sultan Thaha Airport an icon of Jambi City and the pride of the community.

In line with the new terminal, Sultan Thaha Airport is equipped with a number of facilities to make it comfortable for travelers to fly at the airport, including a fixed bridge for garbarata services to make it easier for passengers to get on and off the plane, self check-in machines, commercial areas, comfortable boarding lounges, VIP lounge, and various other facilities.

Meanwhile, at the ASQ Awards, Sultan Thaha Airport also won the Best Hygiene Measures by Region 2021 award.

The award is given by ACI to every airport that has new procedures and services in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic according to the wishes of the traveler to meet their needs, and to ensure that the airport environment remains clean and safe in the midst of the pandemic.

The Best Hygiene Measures by Region 2021 award was also given to 5 other AP II airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport (Pekanbaru), Supadio Airport (Pontianak), Depati Amir Airport (Pangkalpinang), Kualanamu Airport ( Deli Serdang).

There are only 10 airports in Asia Pacific that won the Best Hygiene Measures by Region 2021 award, and as many as 6 airports are AP II airports. This is proof that AP II is very focused on trying to realize a healthy and safe journey in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that the national aviation sector can make a significant contribution in handling the pandemic and recovering the national economy.

ACI stated that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, every airport must be able to make adjustments and adopt new technology and determine various processes to accommodate customer desires.

AP II made various innovations to ensure that health protocols were well maintained at all airports.
