Jakarta - The airport managed by PT Angkasa Pura II today commemorates the 77th Indonesian Independence Day with stakeholders including airplane passengers, airlines, ground handling, and all frontliner staff from various agencies.
"AP II Airport today simultaneously held a commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day. Exactly at 10.00 WIB today, August 17, 2022, at all AP II airports, the proclamation of independence and the hoisting of the Red and White flag were read solemnly, followed by all airport staff, passengers and airport visitors," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the largest airport in Indonesia, at 10:00 WIB the text of the proclamation was read in the check-in area of Terminal 2E followed by a perfect attitude by airport staff, passengers and airport visitors.
After the text of the proclamation was read, airport staff, airplane passengers and visitors at Terminal 2 together took a respectful attitude while proclaiming Indonesia Raya when the Red and White flag was unfurled.
Airplane passengers and airport visitors look very solemn following the commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day.
"With the spirit of Recovering Faster, Rising Stronger, AP II airports celebrate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day simultaneously and solemnly with all stakeholders, including airplane passengers and airport visitors. We hope that the commemoration of the Indonesian Independence Day at the AP II airport can further foster and instill a sense of patriotism in all of us," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
After reading the proclamation and raising the Red and White flag, the celebration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day at Terminal 2E was continued by singing struggle songs performed by the cabin crew of Batik Air and Lion Air, which was attended by all stakeholders.
The commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day today was also held at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport with passengers and airport visitors. In Terminal 3, there were also fashion shows by stakeholders and poetry readings.
"The commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was carried out solemnly and did not interfere with airport services and operations. Today's celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day will be held at the terminal until this afternoon," said Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Agus Hariyadi.
The celebration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day at Terminal 2E of Soekarno-Hatta Airport also received a positive response from tourists. Alfonso and Maria, foreign tourists from Spain, said this was a new experience for them to experience the celebration of independence day at the airport.
“It's very mesmerizing, where people celebrate [independence] and sing and dance. A new experience for us,” said Alfonso.
Meanwhile at Supadio Airport (Pontianak), airplane passengers attended the commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day, reading the proclamation of independence and raising the Red and White flag in the boarding lounge (departure waiting area).
"In commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day, customer service at Supadio Airport also serves airplane passengers and airport visitors by wearing traditional clothes," said Executive General Manager of Supadio Airport, Muhamad Iwan Sutisna.
At Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang), in addition to reading the proclamation and raising the Red and White which was attended by all stakeholders at the aircraft passenger terminal, an e-sport competition was also held with participants from the airport community.
The commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day is also at other AP II airports simultaneously today.
