Airplane Passengers Fulfill New Travel Requirements Including Booster Vaccinations, Flight Recovery Trends at AP II Airport Get Stronger

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II Airport since July 17, 2022 has implemented the latest regulations for passengers on domestic routes according to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 70/2022.

Based on the SE, passengers on domestic routes who have received a third dose of vaccination (booster) are not required to perform a PCR or antigen test. If you have just received the second dose, you must show the results of the antigen test (sample taken 1x24 hours before departure) or PCR (sample taken 3x24 hours before departure). If you have just received the first dose, you must show a PCR test (samples are taken within 3x24 hours).

After the enactment of this regulation, the number of passenger movements at AP II airports remains stable.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said airplane passengers could properly comply with the latest regulations.

"The implementation of the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 70/2022 is going very well at all AP II airports, supported by the collaboration of AP II with all stakeholders, including the Airport Authority, the COVID-19 Task Force, the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health and airlines. Aircraft passenger movements remained stable, the recovery trend remained strong. This indicates that airplane passengers can properly comply with the latest regulations, including those related to the fulfillment of booster vaccinations."

AP II supports the implementation of every existing regulation, and this latest regulation can encourage the acceleration of booster vaccination for the community and have an impact as well as an effort to realize safe travel in the midst of a pandemic," said Muhammad Awaluddin. .

The average movement of passengers at AP II airport before the enactment of SE Kemenhub Number 70/2022, namely on 9-16 July 2022, was around 175,000 passengers/day, where this number is the same as after the enactment of SE Kemenhub Number 70/2022, namely on 17-22 July 24, 2022 which is also around 175,000 passengers/day.

Meanwhile, on a month-to-date basis, namely 1-24 July 2022, the number of passenger movements at AP II airport cumulatively reached 4.49 million passengers, an increase of 3% compared to 1-24 June 2022 as many as 4.36 million passengers.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the largest airport in Indonesia, passengers on July 1-24 2022 were recorded at around 3 million passengers or an increase of about 3% from June 1-24 2022 as many as 2.9 million passengers.

“When the new travel requirements began to be implemented on July 17, passenger movements at AP II airport remained stable. When compared between 1-24 July 2022 and 1-24 June 2022, there is an increase of around 3%," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said that in August 2022, it is estimated that the number of aircraft passengers will increase again in line with the celebration of Independence Day on August 17.

AP II also supports airplane passengers to be able to meet the requirements of this trip, where there are booster vaccination centers available at airports managed by the company, such as at Soekarno-Hatta Airport which has three booster vaccination centers, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. which is open every day from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB.

In total, vaccination centers at AP II airports have served booster vaccinations for around 1,000 airplane passengers.

AP II airports also open Airport Health Center services for airplane passengers to carry out PCR tests.

At every AP II airport, in line with the enactment of SE Kemenhub Number 70/2022, prospective passengers who will depart are asked to scan the QR Code at the airport through the PeduliLindung application to then show it to airline officers.

If the scan results show a yellow or red color in the PeduliLindung application, the prospective passenger must complete an antigen or PCR test according to applicable regulations.

If the scan results show a green color in the PeduliLindung application, it indicates that the prospective passenger has met the health requirements (has been vaccinated with a booster, or has had a PCR test, or has had an antigen test, according to applicable regulations), and can immediately proceed to departure.

The verification of vaccination documents or COVID-19 test results outside the PeduliLindung application will be carried out by Ministry of Health KKP officers at the airport.
