Soekarno-Hatta Airport Welcomes the Arrival of Athletes and Official Asean Para Games 2022

Special assistance and facilities are prepared to support the arrival and transit process of athletes and officials

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, which is managed by PT Angkasa Pura II welcomes the arrival of athletes and officials from participating countries of the Asean Para Games 2022 which will be held in Surakarta, Central Java, on July 30 - August 6, 2022.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport was currently welcoming participants who took part in two international activities in Indonesia, namely delegates for the G20 series of activities, as well as athletes and officials from participating countries of the 2022 Asean Para Games.

"In welcoming the arrival of athletes and official participants of the 2022 Asean Para Games, AP II has coordinated with various parties, especially the Indonesia National Paralympic Organization Committee (INASPOC) to ensure the arrival of athletes and officials goes smoothly."

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a transit airport, for athletes and officials to continue their journey to Surakarta. AP II together with INASPOC and other stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport have coordinated to provide the best service in welcoming athletes and officials," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport provided Indonesian hospitality to give a positive impression to athletes and officials when they arrived in the country.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi said that assistance and facilities were prepared to welcome athletes and officials on 19-30 July 2022.

"So far, around 100 athletes and official participants of the Asean Para Games 2022 have arrived. The flow of international arrivals for athletes and officials is after processing the health and immigration and customs protocols/stipulations, athletes and officials will then receive assistance for transit to Terminal 1, Terminal 2, or Terminal 3 to then continue the flight to Surakarta.”

"All facilities are also ensured to be ready, including low-deck buses on the airside that are friendly for wheelchair users, then fast lanes for the disabled at the security check point (SCP), priority seats at each departure gate, lifts for the disabled, stairs for the disabled, toilets for the disabled, as well as golf cars and other facilities. In addition, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also prepared special personnel to support INASPOC," said Agus Haryadi.

Furthermore, Agus Haryadi said that AP II also socialized and enlivened the implementation of the 2022 Asean Para Games by broadcasting various content related to the event on digital media (digital banners and videos) in passenger terminals (Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3).

The Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the airports with the most complete disability facilities. Disability services available at AP II airports refer to PM Number 98 of 2017 concerning Provision of Accessibility in Public Transportation Services for Service Users with Special Needs.
