According to President Jokowi and the Minister of Transportation's Directions Regarding Booster Vaccination as a Travel Requirement, AP II Makes Preparations to Ensure Policies Are Well Implemented at 20 Airports

AP II Airport opens booster vaccination center

Jakarta - In line with President Joko Widodo's direction, the government will implement a booster vaccination policy as a travel requirement, including for airplane passengers.

The Ministry of Transportation will issue regulations related to the policy, and what the Ministry of Transportation is referring to, as with the previous implementation, is the Circular from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force regarding the rules for travel requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Task Force Circular is currently being prepared.

Meanwhile, PT Angkasa Pura II as the manager of 20 airports in Indonesia will provide further information regarding when the implementation of booster vaccination as a travel requirement for airplane passengers.

AP II itself is currently making various preparations so that these provisions can later be implemented properly.

"According to the direction of the President and the Minister of Transportation regarding the implementation of booster vaccination as a travel requirement, AP II made various preparations to ensure that the policy was implemented properly at all AP II airports," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.

"One of the preparations we have made is to open a booster vaccination center facility along with all facilities and infrastructure at all AP II airports for airplane passengers from 6-7 July 2022. Coordination has been carried out with all stakeholders, especially the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health to ensure the availability of booster vaccinations. for airplane passengers," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The booster vaccination centers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport have started to open on July 6, 2022 at least at three points, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Meanwhile, booster vaccination centers at 19 other AP II airports will be opened starting July 7, 2022.

“The policy of booster vaccination as a condition of travel has not yet been implemented. AP II has made preparations by opening booster vaccination centers in all airports. When the policy is enforced, all AP II airports are ready to serve airplane passengers who need booster vaccinations, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin added that the presence of booster vaccination centers in all AP II airports would also support the acceleration of booster vaccination in the community.

Currently, the number of passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, is around 100,000 - 120,000 passengers/day, while at 19 other AP II airports, the cumulative number is around 100,000 passengers/day.

"With the booster vaccination center at AP II airport, it will not be difficult for airplane passengers to meet travel requirements, and this will have an impact on the acceleration of booster vaccination in the community. We will inform you when the booster vaccination policy will be implemented as a travel requirement," Muhammad Awaluddin explained.
