Cultural Parade 'Langgam Pancarona, Dahayu Nusantara' Amazes Airplane Passengers and Tourists at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

SOE Minister Erick Thohir turns the airport into a showcase for Indonesian culture, arts and music

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport will hold a cultural parade "Langam Pancarona, Dahayu Nusantara" on Sunday, June 26, 2022, which will show a variety of traditional arts and amaze flight passengers, including domestic and foreign tourists.

The traditional arts performed are Sigeh Pengunten Dance from Lampung, Kancet Papatai Dance from East Kalimantan, Mask Dance and Angklung musical instruments from West Java, Pakarena Fan Dance from South Sulawesi and Cakalele Dance from Maluku.

The lively atmosphere was felt when the cultural parade was held at Terminal 3, where airplane passengers including foreign tourists and foreign tourists looked enthusiastic, traditional dance performers also invited the audience to interact, and airport officials and commercial tenants also enlivened the cultural parade by wearing traditional clothes.

The cultural parade was also attended by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, InJourney Marketing Director Maya Watono and PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin, who on one occasion also interacted with art performers and airport visitors.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the cultural parade at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was an effort to preserve the nation's culture while at the same time providing added value for services at the airport.

"We will continue to push our airport to become a showcase of Indonesian culture, arts and music. We have an extraordinary culture, great music. We as a nation have culture, have character. This is what we are guarding," said the Minister of SOEs.

On the other hand, the Minister of SOEs also said that this cultural parade was an effort to support the growth of the national economy and tourism.

“The context is that our economy is starting to return. It is very important how to ensure that excitement, life grows after COVID-19," said the Minister of SOEs.

The Minister of SOEs also appreciated the holding of the cultural parade "Langam Pancarona, Dahayu Nusantara" at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“Indonesian people, tourists, the working community at the airport rejoice in today's cultural festival. We could see earlier when there was a dance, foreign tourists, local tourists, everyone at the airport was smiling, happy. That's the warmth that we have to maintain," explained the Minister of SOEs.

As for this event, the cultural parade greeted airplane passengers who were waiting for flight departures in the boarding lounge area, and welcomed the arrival of airplane passengers including foreign tourists and foreign tourists who had just landed in the arrival hall.

In the same place, InJourney Marketing Director Maya Watono said cultural festival activities at a number of airports would be held once a week on a regular basis and once a month on a large scale.

"We want the airport to be a cultural showcase, giving visitors a different experience," said Maya Watono.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that now was the momentum to be able to hold an archipelago cultural parade at the airport to help encourage the recovery of the national tourism sector.

"The number of aircraft passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in June 2022 averaged around 120,000 people/day, an increase compared to December 2021, which was around 80,000 people/day. There is a desire to travel in the community, in line with the improvement in handling the pandemic. This is the right time to accelerate the recovery of the tourism sector, one of which we encourage by introducing the various cultures of the archipelago at the airport, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
