Lebaran Homecoming Allowed Again After Two Years Abolished, What Do Homecomers and Workers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Say?

Jakarta - People are allowed to go home for Eid this year in line with the better handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is supported by, among other things, a booster vaccination program.

In line with this, PT Angkasa Pura II as the operator of 20 airports together with all stakeholders made maximum preparations to ensure smooth transportation for Eid 2022.

The number of passenger movements at 20 AP II airports cumulatively on D-10 to D+2 (22 April - 5 May 2022) reached 2.47 million people with 20,301 aircraft movements.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, during that period the movement of passengers reached 1.58 million people with 12,812 aircraft movements.

Meanwhile, AP II has received requests for extra flights for charter and scheduled flights, which cumulatively amounted to 1,008 flights at all AP II airports from various airlines for the period 20 April - 10 May 2022. From these extra flight requests, as many as 494 extra flights have been used by airlines up to May 6, 2022.

"Utilization of extra flights has almost reached 50% of applications, where this ratio is quite high because usually the use of extra flights in the peak season period is around 20-30%," said President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin.

The implementation of Angleb this year was well received by travelers and airport workers, including at Soekarno-Hatta Airport which is the busiest airport in Indonesia in serving travelers.

A number of passengers who were met today, May 16, 2022, at around 14.00 WIB at Terminal 2, told of their experiences of traveling during this busy period.

Fajri Ramdhani, an airplane passenger traveling from Jambi - Jakarta - Jambi, said that the service provided by airport and flight operators so far is quite good.

“Good service, no problems. So far no problem. The flight [when it arrived during the homecoming period at Soekarno-Hatta Airport] was also smooth with no delays. Thank you to the airport management for the service, it has been good, it has been maximized," said he, who today flew back to Jambi from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

He appreciated the Airport Health Center at AP II airport which provides COVID-19 test services.

The Jakarta - Jambi flight today is served, among others, by Batik Air ID6804 with a departure schedule at 17.25 WIB.

In addition to homecomers, airplane passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport also make tourist trips such as Putra Galih and Aurel Maulana Salam.

Putra Galih and Aurel Maulana Salam appreciated the self check-in kiosk facilities spread across Terminal 2.

"Terminal 2 has an independent check-in (self check-in kiosk), which is very helpful, especially during the Eid period (when flight traffic is high), it saves time and helps in terms of physical distancing," said Putra Galih.

Today's Jakarta - Yogyakarta flight includes ID 6372 with departure at 16.05 WIB.

Meanwhile, one of the plane's passengers, Agustina Rini Ambarwati, who flew from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Banjarmasin, said that travelers can also prepare time well so they can process departures at the airport properly.

“Homecomers should come early in order to prepare for departure properly. Thank you for the service at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for the maximum service. Hopefully the travelers can return smoothly," he said.

The Jakarta - Banjarmasin flight today, among others, is served by ID 8216 with a scheduled departure at 16.20 WIB.

The smooth transportation of Eid 2022 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport cannot be separated from the alertness of airport personnel such as Dody Prasetyo, Aviation Security at Terminal 2.

Dody said he was very proud to be able to serve the travelers even though he had less time with his family because he had to work during the Eid holidays.

"Alhamdulillah, passengers have increased in Eid transportation this year. Happy to be able to serve travelers to return to their hometown. Even though we are on duty on Eid day, it is a matter of pride for us to be able to serve the travelers,” said Dody.

Rezi Pratama, who served as Customer Service, said the same thing.
