“Air transportation connects every province in Indonesia. By air, we can travel from one city to another in a short time. In an archipelagic country like Indonesia, air transportation is the most efficient and effective mode," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The peak of the homecoming flow at 20 AP II airports occurred on April 29, 2022 (D-3) with a cumulative number of aircraft passenger movements reaching 218,657 people and a flight frequency of 1,649 flights.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the number of peak passenger movements for homecoming on D-3 was recorded at 141,347 people and the flight frequency was 1,052 flights.

In total, during D-10 to D-3 (April 22-April 29) the cumulative number of passenger movements at 20 AP II airports was recorded at 1.48 million people.

"People have followed the government's recommendation to go home from the start or not close on Eid day so that the distribution of homecoming travels goes well, and we thank the community. This also causes the peak of the homecoming flow to arrive earlier, namely on April 29, where previously we estimated it would be on April 30, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Regarding flight seat capacity, AP II has received as many as 670 requests for extra flights from various airlines for the period 22 April - 10 May 2022. This extra flight is to accommodate the high demand for prospective passengers during this Lebaran homecoming period.

Meanwhile, the top 5 destinations in Angleb 2022, especially the homecoming flow on April 22 - April 29 from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, are to Medan, Bali, Makassar, Surabaya and Pontianak.
