Jakarta - The implementation of the 2022 Eid transportation at all PT Angkasa Pura II airports is running smoothly.
AP II and stakeholders ensure that aspects of security, safety, service and health protocols are the main focus in welcoming travelers at all company airports.
In line with this, the movement of passengers at all AP II airports on the 2022 Lebaran Transportation during the homecoming flow from H-10 to D-4 (22 - 28 April) reached 1.08 million people and could be served well. During that period, aircraft movements reached 9,416 flights.
Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the largest airport in Indonesia, passenger movements on D-10 to D-4 were recorded as 778,529 people with 6,467 flights.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi appreciated the good coordination and collaboration among stakeholders in the air transportation sector.
"In general, I appreciate the collaboration between airport operators, facilities and navigation operators because they are compact," said the Minister of Transportation while monitoring the 2022 Lebaran Transportation in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area.
The Minister of Transportation also said that the increase in flight traffic during Angleb 2022 is good news for the aviation sector.
"I'm very happy. According to the report from the President Director of Angkasa Pura II, yesterday it exceeded 1,000 flights [Soekarno-Hatta Airport]. This is the first time in the last 2 years [since the pandemic hit]," explained the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation said that AP II and AirNav Indonesia should focus on managing flight traffic properly.
In the same place, AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said aircraft movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday, April 28, 2022, reached 1,054 flights or about 91% of the flight frequency in 2019 when the pandemic had not yet hit.
"For 2 years affected by the pandemic, the movement of aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta Airport every day is no more than 1,000 flights / day. However, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, aircraft movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for the first time penetrated more than 1,000 flights/day, 1,054 flights to be exact, which represents 91% of conditions when there was no COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.”
"Excellent coordination between AP II as the operator of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, airlines and AirNav Indonesia in making flight arrangements, slot times, ground handling services and so on is going very well even though we are in a period of high demand. We also thank the airplane passengers who have supported the smooth operation of Angleb 2022 at AP II airport," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin added that in line with the increase in aircraft movements, the number of passengers at AP II airports in Angleb 2022 also increased.
During the homecoming flow from D-10 to D-4 (22-28 April 2022), the movement of aircraft passengers at AP II airport has penetrated 1.08 million people.
Muhammad Awaluddin said that the existence of the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) building as a forum for airport stakeholder collaboration supported by the Airport Collaboration Decision Making (A-CDM) system could make Soekarno-Hatta Airport face every situation and condition, including during high flight traffic.
The smooth operation of the 2022 Eid transportation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also supported by a number of operating strategies, including re-activating Terminal 1, which was previously decommissioned in the midst of the pandemic. In line with that, all passenger terminals at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Terminals 1, 2 and 3) are now operational. Skytrain is also operated to support the mobility of travelers within the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area.
