26 Apr 2022

Pelita Air Services first operates the Airbus A320-200 on regular scheduled flights, departing at 09.20 WIB from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Denpasar

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II and PT Pelita Air Services strengthen flight connectivity in Indonesia and support efforts to recover the tourism sector affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, Thursday 28 April 2022, Soekarno-Hatta Airport managed by AP II welcomes the inaugural operation of Pelita Air Services' regular scheduled flights from Jakarta - Denpasar.

Pelita Air Services flight number 6D-102 departs every day from Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 09.20 WIB and arrives in Denpasar at 12.10 WITA, served by a narrow body Airbus A320-200. Pelita Air Services itself currently operates 2 units of Airbus A320-200.

Meanwhile, Pelita Air Services flights are served through Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is currently the largest airplane passenger terminal in Indonesia.

The Inaugural Flight Ceremony of Pelita Air for the Jakarta - Denpasar route was held today, April 28, 2022, at Terminal 3 and was attended by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin, InJourney Holding President Director Dony Oskaria, Pertamina President Director Nicky Widyawati and President Director Pelita Air Service Dendy Kurniawan.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir said Pelita Air Service must become a new paradigm for the national aviation sector.

"Data before the COVID-19 pandemic showed that 72 percent of our tourism industry was domestic. There is tremendous potential that SOEs have not focused on so far. Therefore, Pelita will become one of the backbones for domestic flights," explained the Minister of SOEs at the inaugural flight event. .

Meanwhile, President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin said Pelita Air Services' regular scheduled flights were a tangible form of joint efforts in ensuring the contribution of the aviation sector to national economic growth and services to the community.

"The operation of Pelita Air Services on regular scheduled flights, which are fully supported by AP II as the operator of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, will further improve service standards for the aviation sector so that it has a positive impact on travelers. We welcome Pelita Air Services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said Muhammad Awaluddin on the sidelines of the inauguration of the regular scheduled flight for the Jakarta - Denpasar route by Pelita Air Services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, April 28, 2022.

Muhammad Awaluddin added that the presence of Pelita Air Services in the middle of Lebaran 2022 transportation could also accommodate the high demand for flight seats, especially since the Jakarta - Denpasar route is one of the busiest routes in the world.

"The Jakarta - Denpasar route is one of the busiest domestic routes in the world, and we are very pleased that Pelita Air Services can open flight services on this route to meet existing demand," Muhammad Awaluddin explained.

Based on an analysis from the UK-based global agency OAG, the seat capacity on the Jakarta - Denpasar (CGK - DPS) route in April 2022 was recorded at 620,000 flight seats, making this route the 8th busiest domestic route in the world.

"AP II ensures that every flight route, including Jakarta - Denpasar, will run smoothly, both related to flight operations and services to airplane passengers. The Jakarta - Denpasar route is one of the busiest domestic routes in the world, and we ensure that we will maintain safety, security and service standards as well as compliance with all regulations," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

President Director of PT Pelita Air Services Dendy Kurniawan said the Jakarta - Denpasar flight today is one of the achievements for the company.

"This is a very historic moment for Pelita Air, because Pelita Air has started serving scheduled flights from Jakarta to Denpasar," said Dendy Kurniawan.

Dendy Kurniawan said that in the future, Pelita Air Services will reopen other flight routes.

"Pelita Air will grow and contribute to the aviation industry," said Dendy Kurniawan.
