The Minister of Transportation and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture today reviewed the readiness of Soekarno-Hatta Airport for Eid transportation
Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy today, Thursday 7 April 2022, held a coordination meeting with aviation stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport regarding the readiness of the 2022 Eid transportation.
The coordination meeting was held at PT Angkasa Pura II Head Office at around 14.00 WIB, attended by, among others, Director General of Civil Aviation Novie Riyanto, President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin and President Director of AirNav Indonesia Polana B. Pramesti.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said a coordination meeting was held to review the preparations that had been made by AP II at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for the 2022 Eid transportation.
"We had a coordination meeting. For 1 hour we review what AP II has done. Safe Homecoming and Healthy Homecoming must be carried out," said the Minister of Transportation.
After holding a coordination meeting, the Minister of Transportation and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture visited Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, including monitoring the operation of the booster vaccination center and conducting a safety inspection (ramp check) on one Garuda Indonesia aircraft.
"Reviews of Soekarno-Hatta Airport regarding the implementation of going home, which we have not carried out for 2 years. We have prepared it ahead of time, including at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," explained the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture said that Soekarno-Hatta Airport was the central point of other airports.
In addition, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture emphasized the importance of having a booster vaccination center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to support airplane passengers to comply with health protocols.
As is known, the latest flight requirements for domestic routes are for passengers who have taken the third dose of vaccination (booster) not to show the results of the COVID-19 test.
Meanwhile, those who have taken the first dose of vaccination must show the results of the RT-PCR test whose samples were taken a maximum of 3x24 hours before departure. For those who have received the second dose of vaccination, they are required to show the results of the rapid antigen test, the sample of which is taken a maximum of 1x24 hours before departure or the results of the RT-PCR whose sample is taken a maximum of 3x24 hours before departure.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that apart from a vaccination center in Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta Airport starting today, April 7, 2022, also opened a booster vaccination center in Terminal 2.
"The booster vaccination center was opened in the Arrival Hall Area of Terminal 2 D-E to support aircraft passengers, including during the 2022 Lebaran Transport period," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
The booster vaccination center in Terminal 2 is open every day at 08.00 - 16.00 WIB. Passengers who want to do a booster are advised to arrive 4 hours before departure, and must have received a second dose of vaccination for at least 3 months.
Apart from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, booster vaccination centers have also been opened at other airports managed by AP II.
"We hope that Lebaran transportation can run smoothly, one of which is supported by a booster vaccination center. AP II supports Safe Homecoming and Healthy Homecoming," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
In a coordination meeting with the Minister of Transportation and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the peak of the homecoming flow was estimated at D-3 while the peak of return flow was on D+5.
"As preparation for Lebaran Transportation, Terminal 1 has been activated starting April 1. Previously, Terminal 1 was almost 2 years inactive due to the pandemic. The opening of Terminal 1 supports Terminal 2 and Terminal 3," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin added, "With all terminals operating and operational support for 3 runways, this will ensure the smooth flight of domestic and international routes at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Following the operation of Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the Lebaran 2022 transportation period will also activate the Skytrain, which is a rail-based transportation mode with electric power for the movement of airplane passengers and airport visitors, from and to Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and Airport Train Station.
During the Lebaran 2022 transportation period, the Skytrain will be operated from 05.00 - 22.00 WIB.
"We are very prepared to face the 2022 Lebaran Transportation by optimizing resources at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, including activating Terminal 1 and Skytrain as rail-based modes with electric power that connects inter-terminals and Airport Train Stations," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
