In early April, Soekarno-Hatta Airport served 108 international flights on average with 13,880 passengers per day

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (Tanjung Pinang) and Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang) as entry points for foreign travel enforce the provisions in the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 42 of 2022 concerning Implementation Guidelines Overseas By Air Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

PT Angkasa Pura II VP of Corporate Communication Hufron Kurniadi said the Ministry of Transportation's SE Number 42/2022 was set on April 6, 2022.

"AP II is coordinating with stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Raja Haji Fisabilillah and Kualanamu regarding the implementation of the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 42/2022. AP II supports various facilities at the airport so that the implementation of the provisions as contained in the circular letter can be carried out properly," said Hufron Kurniadi.

As for SE 42/2022, provisions related to the RT-PCR test for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) are stated, namely that RT-PCR must be carried out only for PPLNs who are detected to have symptoms related to COVID-19 and/or have a body temperature in above 37.5 degrees Celsius.

If the PPLN is detected to have no symptoms of COVID-19 and has a body temperature below 37.5 degrees Celsius, it can continue the journey with the following conditions:

- For PPLNs who have not received vaccinations or have received the first dose of vaccine at least 14 days before departure, they are required to quarantine 5x24 hours

- For PPLN who have received the second or third dose of vaccine at least 14 days before departure, they are allowed to continue their journey

Meanwhile, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Kualanamu Airport as of April 6, 2022, the issuance of a Special Tourist Visit Visa Free and a Visit Visa on Special Tourist Arrival.

This is in accordance with the enactment of Circular Letter Number IMI-0549.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning Ease of Immigration in the Framework of Supporting Sustainable Tourism During the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic issued by the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Free Special Tourist Visit Visa is given to passport holders from 9 countries in ASEAN. Meanwhile, the granting of a Visit Visa on Special Arrival for Tourism, among others, to passport holders from 43 countries.

International flights
AP II has also made preparations to accommodate future international flight requests at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport and Kualanamu Airport.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the main entry point for Indonesia had set various operating strategies, one of which was rebalancing flight traffic at 3 airplane passenger terminals.

"Terminal 1 is activated starting April 1, 2022 for domestic flights, this is to support Terminal 2 to serve domestic and international flights, especially Umrah. Meanwhile, Terminal 3 is for domestic and international flights, including foreign airlines."

“Coordination is carried out closely with all stakeholders. The Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) and the Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will ensure operational readiness and facilities for the smooth running of every flight, including international flights, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

International flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport itself are currently in an increasing trend.

In the period 1 - 6 April 2022, the number of passenger movements reached 83,284 passengers, an increase of almost 60% compared to 1 - 6 March 2022 as many as 52,400 passengers. Meanwhile, flight movements increased by 8% or from 598 flights to 648 flights.

Meanwhile, the number of special passenger movements for Umrah flights in the period 1 - 6 April 2022 reached 26,106 passengers.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport, on April 1-6, serves an average of 108 international flights with 13,880 international passengers every day. AP II together with stakeholders coordinate closely and ensure the readiness of facilities to ensure smooth international flights," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
