Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II is carrying out a rebalancing strategy at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in order to maximize the role of 3 aircraft passenger terminals in supporting flight operations.

The rebalancing strategy is also one of the preparations for the largest airport in Indonesia in anticipating increased flight traffic during the Lebaran Transportation period which is planned to fall in the period 22 April - 13 May 2022, with homecoming flows on 22 April - 1 May 2022 and backflow on 4 - May 2022. May 13, 2022.

Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Agus Haryadi said the rebalancing strategy aims to divide the roles of 3 terminals to serve departure and arrival of aircraft passengers.

"Airline traffic has increased since the end of March 2022, and we apologize to airplane passengers if during this period they feel that Terminal 2 is quite crowded. For this reason, we are carrying out a rebalancing strategy by activating Terminal 1 starting April 1, 2022 to serve the departure and arrival of passengers on domestic routes, "explained Agus Haryadi.

Furthermore, Agus Haryadi said that Terminal 1, especially Sub Terminal 1A, will serve flights from 5 airlines, namely Airfast, Super Air Jet, Sriwijaya Air, NAM Air and AirAsia Indonesia.

Airfast has started operating at Terminal 1 on April 1st, then Super Air Jet from tomorrow, April 6th. Then, followed by Sriwijaya Air, NAM Air and AirAsia Indonesia on April 12.

“By the end of March 2022 when air traffic increases, Terminal 2 serves around 75,000 passengers per day. In April 2022, after Terminal 1 is active, as many as 15,000 passengers per day will move from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1," said Agus Haryadi.

Meanwhile, Terminal 3 serves 46,000 airplane passengers every day.

AP II also asked airlines and ground handling to make various preparations to support the smooth operation of flights, including the Lebaran 2022 transportation period.

"We ask airlines and ground handling to properly make preparations. Good collaboration among all stakeholders is the key to smooth flight operations," said Agus Haryadi.

Meanwhile, at the Commission V DPR Hearing Meeting with transportation stakeholders on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, AP II is expected to ensure safety and service aspects, including paying attention to the crowds in Terminal 2.

In the RDP, AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin expressed his gratitude for the input provided by Commission V of the DPR.

"We are very grateful for the criticisms and suggestions given by Commission V of the DPR, and AP II will make service improvements to support the smoothness of the 2022 Lebaran Transportation by paying attention to safety, security and service standards," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said AP II would ensure airport operations and services on the 2022 Lebaran Transport would be much better than before.
