Airfast airlines operate in Sub Terminal 1A starting April 1, followed by Super Air Jet starting April 6, as well as Sriwijaya Air Group starting April 12 and AirAsia Indonesia also starting April 12.

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport, starting April 1, 2022, will reactivate Terminal 1 to serve departures and arrivals of airplane passengers.

Previously, there were operational restrictions and deactivation of Terminal 1 since 2020 in line with the operational adjustment of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to tighten health protocols and pay attention to overall operational effectiveness.

Last month, Sub Terminal 1A was activated only to serve the arrival of airplane passengers on the last flight each day (last flight arrival) for a number of domestic flights.

Starting April 1, 2022, Sub Terminal 1A will fully serve the departure and arrival of passengers on domestic routes. The airline that will operate at Sub Terminal 1A starting April 1 is Airfast, followed by Super Air Jet starting April 6, Sriwijaya Air Group starting April 12 and AirAsia Indonesia also starting April 12.

"AP II ensures that all managed airports, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport, can operate tough and quickly adapt to the dynamic situation and conditions in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin added, "Currently Soekarno-Hatta Airport needs to make operational adjustments by reactivating Terminal 1 for passenger departures and arrivals, and AP II together with stakeholders are ready to undergo this starting April 1, 2022."

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi said that Terminal 1 was reactivated to serve departure and arrival of aircraft passengers to ensure that health protocols were running well in line with existing flight traffic trends.

"Starting April 1, 2022, Terminal 1 will again serve departures and arrivals of airplane passengers. Currently AP II and stakeholders are conducting various technical preparations to ensure the activation can run smoothly with the fulfillment of service, security and safety aspects."

"In the last 7 days, the number of passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has consistently been above 100,000 people/day. It even touched 140,000 people/day or about 70% of the daily passenger movements before the COVID-19 which was 200,000 people/day. This trend of existing flight traffic is also the background for the re-activation of Terminal 1 to serve departures and arrivals," said Agus Haryadi.

Agus Haryadi said that the reactivation of Terminal 1 was also prepared to support the smooth operation of the 2022 Eid transportation.

"The 2022 Eid transport period, both homecoming and return flows, is a period that must be considered. The activation of Terminal 1 is to accommodate and ensure the smoothness of Eid transportation in," explained Agus Haryadi.

AP II will ensure the readiness of personnel and facilities for security, safety and service aspects at Terminal 1. In line with the activation of Terminal 1 as of April 1, 2022, the departure and arrival of airplane passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are served by 3 terminals, namely through Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
