26 Mar 2022

For the period of January 24 - March 25, the total number of private jet flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was 818 flights with a total of 4,588 passengers

Jakarta - Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is being revitalized to improve landside and airside facilities.

In line with this, currently general aviation flights including private jet flights are being moved to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, departure and arrival of private jet flights are carried out through the Saphire Precious Lounge which is located in the Terminal 1 area.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta Airport has the capability to serve private jet flights where passengers depart and arrive via the Saphire Precious Lounge.

"With the Saphire Precious Lounge, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is like having its own terminal for private jet flights. This lounge has various advantages, such as a large area, air side access to get to the plane and vice versa, as well as a special vehicle parking area for aircraft passengers.”

In full, the facilities at the Saphire Precious Lounge include meeting rooms, dining rooms, prayer rooms, co-working spaces, internet connections, TV entertainment channels, charging stations and so on.

"Private jet flights further complement services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Moreover, private jet flights also increase the competitiveness of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the Southeast Asia region," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport also has airside capacity to support private jet flights

Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Agus Haryadi, said that there is enough aircraft parking space available.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport's air side capacity is able to support private jet flights, and does not interfere with scheduled commercial flights. In total, the current parking stand can park 38 large-bodied aircraft and 150 medium-sized aircraft."

Agus Haryadi explained that private jets were placed in the aircraft parking area (apron) at the airside of Terminal 1, which is located close to the Saphire Precious Lounge.

Furthermore, Agus Haryadi said that currently Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also been strengthened with 3 runways to support the smooth operation of flights.

Head of Operation Control Center Travira Air Dody Suratno said private jet flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport have been running smoothly, supported by complete service and operational facilities.

“The lounge is very nice, cool, equipped with various facilities. In addition, there is also a vehicle parking area that makes it easier for passengers," he said.

He also appreciated Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) which is always on standby at any time.

“We once had a flight schedule at 4 am for international routes, and CIQ was ready. This is very good because it supports smooth flight. Soekarno-Hatta Airport also has excellent facilities to support aircraft operations," said Dody Suratno.

In the future, he said the standard of lounge service for airplane passengers and matters related to flight operations can be maintained and continuously improved.
