The handling of the arrival of the G20 delegation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport went smoothly
Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport today, Monday 6 December 2021, held a ceremony to welcome the arrival of the G20 delegation.
The ceremonial welcoming of the delegation also signifies that Soekarno-Hatta Airport is ready to support all the activities of the 2022 G20 Indonesian Presidency.
The G20 delegations starting to arrive this week will attend the 1st Sherpa Meeting of the G20 2022 Indonesian Presidency which will take place on 7-8 December 2021 in Jakarta.
Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Agus Haryadi said the welcoming ceremony was carried out with the water salute tradition as a form of welcoming the delegates.
"The G20 delegates who will attend the 1st Sherpa Meeting have arrived since Sunday, December 5, 2021. And, today, Monday, December 6, 2021, we are conducting a ceremonial ceremony through this water salute tradition as a form of welcoming and respecting all G20 delegates. On the other hand, this also indicates that Soekarno-Hatta Airport is ready to support all activities at the G20 2022 Indonesian Presidency.
The water salute tradition itself is well known in the aviation world as a form of greeting or respect for the airport for the arrival of airplane passengers, the plane itself or the airline.
The water salute tradition in welcoming the G20 delegation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was carried out by two Foam Tender 3000 Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) vehicles facing each other parallel to the two sides of the taxiway lane with a distance of about 95 meters, to shoot water at each other. above at an angle of 45 degrees and meet at one point, so that the water that is shot forms like a giant arc.
The Qatar Airways QR 954 aircraft carrying the G20 delegation passed between the two ARFSS vehicles and under the soaring water, so that when it crossed the water wet the entire fuselage.
The Qatar Airways QR 954 departed from Doha and landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 14.40 WIB with 6 passengers who were the G20 delegation from England, India, Russia and Sweden.
"After getting off the plane, upon arriving at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the G20 delegates will meet with a team of companions who will provide assistance related to airport handling and hospitality. The G20 delegates will also be directed to the hospitality lounge in the international arrivals area of Terminal 3," said Agus Haryadi.
In addition, the VIP Terminal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was also operated to welcome a number of delegates.
"The pick-up of the G20 delegation through the VIP Terminal is carried out by an electric car that has been prepared by the committee. As stated by the government, the use of electric cars is part of the leading by example in organizing the G20 Presidency,” explained Agus Haryadi.

Meanwhile, since Sunday, December 5, 2021, a number of G20 delegates who will attend the 1st Sherpa Meeting have begun to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
The handling of the delegation's arrival from yesterday to today has been running smoothly. On Sunday, 13 G20 delegates from 8 countries arrived.
"We are grateful that the handling of the arrival of the G20 delegation went smoothly, the companion team provided the best assistance in terms of airport handling and hospitality," said Agus Haryadi.
As an effort to support the activities of the G20 delegates while in Indonesia, Soekarno-Hatta Airport also provides a Health protocol REadiness (HORE) application that can be used by G20 delegates for digital data collection, where this application is also integrated with the PeduliLindung application.
As is known, the use of the PeduliLindung application is required to support activities in the midst of this pandemic.
