The use of the PeduliLindung application at AP II airport reached 1.45 million times

Jakarta - Airplane passengers from abroad upon arrival at Indonesian airports are required to undergo an RT-PCR test to anticipate and dispel imported cases of COVID-19.

This provision is stated in the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation Number 85/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of International Travel by Air Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.

In line with this, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is designated as the entry point for international travelers, has prepared a sampling location at Terminal 3 for the RT-PCR test of passengers who have just arrived from abroad.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the RT-PCR implementation was going well due to the collaboration of every stakeholder.

Muhammad Awaluddin revealed that since the PCR provisions for passengers who had just arrived from abroad were enforced, namely on September 19, 2021 to October 31, 2021, there were 93,006 airplane passengers who had carried out PCR tests at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Based on existing data, all passengers arriving from abroad at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, as many as 93,006 people on September 19 - October 31, 2021, have undergone a PCR test at Terminal 3 first before heading to the designated quarantine location," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Most of these international travelers are Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who return to their homeland.

Meanwhile, according to the Minister of Transportation Decree Number 85/2021, for PMI, students or government employees who return from official overseas trips in accordance with the Decree of the Head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 14/2021, the financing for quarantine places and RT-PCR obligations are borne by government.

The PCR test location in Terminal 3 is located at the international arrival hall which is equipped with 20 test-taking booths. The results of this PCR can be known about 1 hour after sampling.

CareProtect Application
Meanwhile, regarding the application of digitizing health documents, namely vaccination letters and COVID-19 test certificates, at AP II airports it is recorded that the PeduliLindung application has been used up to 1.45 million times by airplane passengers.

As is known, vaccination letters and certificates of COVID-19 test results from laboratories registered with the Ministry of Health's New All Record (NAR) can be found directly in the PeduiLindung account of each passenger which can then be used to process flight departures at AP II airport.

This is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Health Number 847/2021 concerning the Digitization of Health Documents for Air Transport Users who are Integrated with the PeduliLindung application.

"The use of the PeduliLindung application at AP II airport has reached 1.45 million times, and we have not stopped socializing the use of the PeduliLindung application to all prospective airplane passengers at AP II airport. Besides being able to make the departure process easier, using the PeduliLindung application can also prevent falsification of vaccine documents or COVID-19 test certificates," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

AP II together with stakeholders at 20 airports are committed to always complying with various provisions as an effort to support the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
