Number of COVID-19 Vaccine Injecting Airplane Passengers at AP II Airport Reached 152,905 People, Most at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

RT-PCR test service results come out in 3 hours, so the choice of airplane passengers to comply with health protocols

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) supports the acceleration of the COVID-19 vaccination program by opening vaccination centers at airports managed by the company.

Since July 3, 2021, COVID-19 vaccination centers have been opened at AP II airports with full support from relevant stakeholders including the Ministry of Health's KKP and local governments.

The enthusiasm of prospective airplane passengers to undergo vaccination at AP II airport is quite high, where in the period from July 3 to October 30 there were 152,905 prospective airplane passengers undergoing vaccination at AP II airport.

Of this number, the most vaccinations were carried out at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, reaching 79,386 people or about 52% of the total vaccinations carried out at AP II airports.

"In about 3 months, the number of prospective airplane passengers who underwent vaccination at AP II airport has reached 152,905 people. This is a fairly large number, where AP II and stakeholders collaborate to make various preparations including regarding the location, process, and availability of vaccines so that hundreds of thousands of prospective airplane passengers can undergo the COVID-19 vaccine smoothly at AP II airport, "said the President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said, "We hope that vaccination centers at AP II airports can also support the implementation of health protocols in the air aviation sector."

As is known, one of the requirements for airplane passengers to be able to travel in the midst of this pandemic is to have at least received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.

RT-PCR test with results out in about 3 hours
The other requirement is that prospective airplane passengers must show a certificate of negative RT-PCR results whose samples are taken a maximum of 3x24 hours before departure for flights from/to Java-Bali and within Java-Bali. For flights outside Java-Bali, the stipulation is that prospective airplane passengers carry out RT-PCR a maximum of 3x24 hours or a rapid antigen test a maximum of 1x24 hours before departure.

As an effort to support this provision, the Airport Health Center at AP II airport has prepared an RT-PCR test service with results coming out in about 3 hours, the first time it has been opened at Soekarno-Hatta Airport since October 24, 2021.

Since it was first opened, the need for this service has continued to increase. In total, in the period from October 24 to October 30, 2021, the number of those who carried out the RT-PCR test with the results coming out in about 3 hours at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was 1,230 prospective passengers or more than those who underwent the test with the results of 1x24 hours, namely 1,035 people.

“Flights are chosen because there are usually time considerations, where someone needs to be fast to reach a destination. For example, there is an urgent task, or must travel as soon as possible. Therefore, we prepared an RT-PCR test service, the results of which came out in 3 hours," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The RT-PCR test service with results coming out in about 3 hours is specifically intended for prospective airplane passengers departing on the same day as the test. For those who fly on a different day from the test time, they can choose the RT-PCR service with 1x24 hour results.

"AP II coordinates with all stakeholders to optimize resources to prepare the RT-PCR results service out in about 3 hours. Among other things, the COVID-19 mobile laboratory was brought directly to the airport to examine samples. Periodically this service will be available at all AP II airports, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The COVID-19 mobile laboratory has now also been brought in at Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung) and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang) to prepare an RT-PCR test service with results out in about 3 hours.

There is no difference in tariffs between the RT-PCR service that results in about 3 hours and the output of 1x24 hours, which is both IDR 275,000 for AP II airports in Java and IDR 300,000 for AP II airports outside Java, according to the Circular of the Director General of Services. Health Ministry of Health Number HK 02.02/1/3843/2021 Regarding the Highest Tariff Limit for RT-PCR Examination.
