RT-PCR Service Out of 3 Hours Becomes the Choice of Airplane Passengers from Soekarno-Hatta Airport

In the near future, similar services will be opened at HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport (Belitung) and Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung)

Jakarta - As an effort to support the implementation of health protocols in air transportation, the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport provides RT-PCR services with results in about 3 hours.

This RT-PCR test service with 3-hour results is specifically for airplane passengers departing on the same date as the test. For passengers departing on a different date from the test, they can choose the RT-PCR test service with 1x24 hour results which are also available at the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Meanwhile, there is no price difference between the 3-hour results and the 1x24-hour results, where the current price is set at Rp495,000 according to the Circular Letter of the Director General of Health Services number HK.02.02/I/2845/2021 concerning the Highest Examination Tariff Limit. Reserve Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). In the future, price adjustments may be made again, pending regulation from the government.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the RT-PCR test service at the Airport Health Center aims to support the implementation of health protocols in air transportation.

"Our focus in the midst of this pandemic is to implement health protocols according to government regulations. In line with that, AP II airports strive to present a process and innovation to make it easier for airplane passengers to undergo health protocols."

"One of the efforts to provide convenience in fulfilling health protocols is through the RT-PCR test service with results that can be known in about 3 hours at the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport specifically for passengers who fly on the same date as the test, whose costs are no different. with the results coming out 1x24 hours, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, since it opened on October 24, 2021, the RT-PCR test service with results coming out in about 3 hours is quite an option for airplane passengers.

In about 2 days, in the period from October 24 to October 26 until 6 am, there were 230 airplane passengers who chose the RT-PCR service with results coming out in about 3 hours.

In fact, on October 26, at 00.00 - 12.00 WIB, the number who underwent RT-PCR with results of about 3 hours out reached 96 passengers or more than those who chose RT-PCR results 1x24 hours as many as 57 people.

"We see that there has been a shift that airplane passengers are now carrying out RT-PCR tests on the same day as departure, because the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is able to provide test results out in about 3 hours," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

As is known, starting October 24, 2021, Soekarno-Hatta Airport will implement the provisions in the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation Number 88/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In accordance with the SE, passengers on airplanes to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport are required to show a COVID-19 vaccine letter for at least the first dose and a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results whose samples were taken a maximum of 2x24 hours before departure.

Meanwhile, the RT-PCR test service with results in around 3 hours will also be available at other AP II airports.

"In the near future, the Airport Health Center at HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport, Belitung, and Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung, will provide RT-PCR services with results in about 3 hours. Gradually until the end of the month, the RT-PCR test service that results in about 3 hours will also be opened in more than half of the airports managed by AP II, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said AP II fully understands that the airports managed by the company are one of the supporters of tourism and the local economy, so there is a need for facilities to ensure air transportation activity and mobility at the airport always comply with health protocols according to regulations.
