Strengthening Aviation Sector Efforts Against COVID-19, Around 16,000 AP II Airport Community People Have Been Vaccinated

Jakarta - The Airport Community of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) fully supports the COVID-19 vaccination program in an effort to strengthen the aviation sector against COVID-19 and to support the realization of herd immunity in Indonesia.

As of June 18, 2021, the number of members of the AP II airport community who have been vaccinated has reached around 16,000 people, consisting of airport staff serving as aviation security, customer service, technicians, cleaners, public security personnel, business partners, terminal inspection services, operator in charge, Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS), Apron Movement Control (AMC), ground handling, and so on.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said vaccinations were held in all 20 company airports and received full support from the government.

“Vaccination is a game changer for us, including for AP II, in an effort to strengthen the fight against COVID-19. We thank the central government and local governments for their full support, especially regarding the availability of vaccines, so that the AP II airport community as public service officers can carry out the vaccination program well."

"Vaccination has been carried out on about 90% of members of the AP II airport community, both for the first dose and the second dose. The current vaccination program is still ongoing so that we can further strengthen health protocols in the midst of a pandemic," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Vaccination at Soekarno-Hatta Airport
Of the 20 AP II airports, the most vaccinations were carried out at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is also the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, reaching around 12,000 people or 75% of the 16,000 people who have been vaccinated at 20 AP II airports.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport has a vaccination center in Terminal 1A which is run professionally so that it can smoothly carry out vaccinations for tens of thousands of people in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport community," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

On 29-30 June 2021, the Terminal 1A vaccination center will again hold vaccinations for around 2,000 members of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport community.

The Terminal 1A vaccination center in March 2021 was also visited by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin. On that occasion, the Minister of Health admired the operation of the Terminal 1A vaccination center.

"I'm here to thank my friends from Angkasa Pura II who have been willing to participate in setting up a vaccination center. I was amazed because it was a neat, comfortable place and the process was efficient and modern,” explained the Minister of Health at the time.

The vaccination center for Terminal 1A Soekarno-Hatta Airport is currently being prepared to be opened to the public in order to support the acceleration of vaccination for the community, in line with the stipulation of airports and ports as one of the vaccination centers by the Ministry of Health.

AP II upgrade 3T
AP II is now increasing efforts to strengthen the implementation of testing, tracing and treatment (3T) for airport staff as an anticipation and protection measure for employees in the Work Force Protection program, as well as paying attention to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.

In strengthening testing, AP II airports now have two programs, namely tests that are carried out regularly on a scheduled basis, and tests that are carried out randomly every day.

"AP II has carried out regularly scheduled COVID-19 tests for all airport staff. And, noticing the recent increase in cases nationally, starting June 18, 2021, random antigen rapid tests will be carried out every day to personnel at AP II airports. We do this as part of the Work Force Protection program and pay attention to the current pandemic conditions, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, to strengthen tracing, AP II has built a tracking system that is supported by the Health Observation Report feature on the internal iPerform application to monitor the status of close contacts, suspects or positive confirmations. Thus, the implementation of the treatment can run well and become stronger.

In addition to strengthening 3T, the implementation of 3M (wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands) is also very important in the midst of a pandemic, as stated by President Joko Widodo.

“3M discipline is the key, and strengthens the implementation of 3T (testing, tracing, treatment) down to the village level. Therefore, let us all be more disciplined, strong discipline in dealing with this epidemic," said the Head of State.

The public is also advised to stay at home if there is no urgent need.
