Soekarno-Hatta Airport COVID-19 Handling Task Force Statement Regarding Quarantine Issues for Aircraft Passengers from Abroad

27 Apr 2021

Jakarta - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport COVID-19 Handling Air Task Force confirmed that the two perpetrators who escaped Indian aircraft passengers from the COVID-19 quarantine procedure were not Soekarno-Hatta Airport officers.

Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Air Task Force Colonel PAS M.A Silaban (TNI AU) said the two individuals involved in the case only claimed to be airport officers.

"It is suspected that the two actors, who in a number of reports with the initials S and RW, are parties with an interest in other agencies at the airport. Therefore they have airport pass cards, and they are not responsible, but instead misuse the airport pass, "said Colonel PAS M.A Silaban (TNI AU).

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi also confirmed that the two individuals were not airport officers.

"We have checked and confirmed that the two individuals are not Soekarno-Hatta Airport officers," said Agus Haryadi.

"We also always ask all officers, both from AP II or other agencies with an interest in the airport to always comply with regulations and maintain the name Soekarno-Hatta Airport," added Agus Haryadi.

This case will also be investigated by the Air Task Force for Handling COVID-19, the Regional Airport Authority Office, and the Police.

"The Air Force for Handling COVID-19 fully supports the National Police in uncovering this case," said Colonel PAS M.A Silaban (TNI AU).
