Jakarta - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin appreciated the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center.
The vaccination center for Terminal 1A Soekarno-Hatta Airport since March 13, 2021 was opened specifically for the implementation of vaccination for public service officers or also known as the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community, consisting of employees of AP II (airport operators), then employees of other institutions who work as cleaning personnel, public security personnel, service officers, business partners, and various other professions in the airport area.
As for today, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, around 11.30 WIB, the Minister of Health reviewed the activities and activities at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center, accompanied by the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin.
On that occasion, the Minister of Health said that the vaccination center for Terminal 1A Soekarno-Hatta Airport has been run very professionally.
"I am here to thank my friends from Angkasa Pura II who have been willing to participate in preparing the vaccination center. I am amazed because the place is neat, comfortable and the process is efficient and modern, "explained the Minister of Health.
Seeing firsthand the excellent conditions in the field, the Minister of Health stated that the operation of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport vaccination center would be extended not only for the implementation of vaccination for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community, but also to support the vaccination program for the elderly.
"I saw this [good implementation in the field], I went straight to him [President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin] .. may be extended, later [the number of] vaccines will be added but with conditions. The condition, we have to help us vaccinate the elderly, "said the Minister of Health.
The elderly, said the Minister of Health, are a group at high risk of being exposed to COVID-19, and therefore are a priority for vaccine recipients.
"Please give priority to [COVID-19 vaccination] to our parents and in-laws. Let's protect them first, "explained the Minister of Health.
"I said, the promise to Pak Awal was extended [for the vaccination center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport]. [The number of] vaccines is added, the condition will be if an employee wants to be injected [vaccination], he must invite the elderly [to be vaccinated], "said the Minister of Health.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin expressed his gratitude for the government's support for the AP II Airport Community.
"We would like to thank the government, to the Ministry of Health, which has supported the vaccination of the AP II Airport Community, including the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community, which is a public service officer. Vaccination for AP II Airport Communities is part of the second phase of the national COVID-19 vaccination program. In line with this vaccination, we are optimistic that all AP II airports will be stronger in facing the challenges of COVID-19. "
"PT Angkasa Pura II is also ready to support the implementation of vaccination for the elderly at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center. We will coordinate further on the implementation of this program together with the Ministry of Health, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center
The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center began operating on March 13, 2021 and is intended for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community, namely employees of PT Angkasa Pura II (airport operators) and other stakeholders such as cleaning personnel, public security personnel, service officers, business partners, and other institutional employees at the airport.
As of March 23, 2021, the first dose of vaccination has been given to around 8,000 workers who are members of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community.
"We are ready if the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 1A vaccination center in the future is also used for the implementation of vaccinations for the elderly," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Meanwhile, at 20 airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the first dose of vaccination has been given to around 10,000 workers who are members of the AP II Airport Community.
