Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport is now not just a place for travelers to get on and off the plane.

Apart from the Skytrain, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also introduced the presence of a sophisticated electric car that has a global reputation: Tesla.

Travelers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can get the experience of driving with a Tesla Model X 75D car which is used as a taxi car by Blue Bird.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the presence of Tesla at Soekarno-Hatta Airport also indicated the company's alignment with the development of new renewable energy (EBT), as well as the increased use of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

“PT Angkasa Pura II together with Blue Bird presents a Tesla electric taxi at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. In line with that, PT Angkasa Pura II provides a General Electric Vehicle Charging Station [SPKLU] at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. "

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport supports the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia, where in addition to Tesla there are other electric taxis also operated by Blue Bird, namely BYD, and also GrabCar with Hyundai IONIQ EV," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Airport General Manager Blue Bird Muhamad Zamroni said the Tesla Model X 75D operated by Blue Bird at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was able to cover a distance of 340 kilometers to 350 kilometers while the battery was fully charged. To charge the battery from discharged to full it takes an average of 2.5 hours.

The number of Blue Bird Tesla Model X 75D units is 2-4 units at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Only with a 20% higher rate than Silver Bird, with the Blue Bird Tesla Model X 75D, a traveler can already feel the luxury and comfort of the cabin when driving with a well-known electric car.

The door opening mechanism of the Tesla X 75D is also quite unique, with just pressing a button the door will open upwards electrically.

If you want to try the driving experience with the Tesla Model X, a traveler can directly order a Tesla taxi directly by walk in at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

In addition to the Tesla X, Blue Bird also operates 25 units of BYD electric vehicles as regular taxis at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Meanwhile, GrabCar also has GrabCar Elektrik service with as many as 20 units of the Hyundai IONIQ EV fleet.

"Currently there are 20 GrabCar Elektrik units operating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. For travelers who want to experience the experience of driving with GrabCar Elektrik, they can go directly to the GrabCar Elektrik booth at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said a spokesperson for Grab Indonesia.
