7 AP II airports won the 2020 ASQ Awards
Jakarta - Airport Council International (ACI) today, Monday 1 March 2021, announced
the names of airports in the world that are best at implementing programs to strengthen hygienic aspects to prevent COVID-19.
The best airport won the Best Hygiene Measures by Region award. Specifically for the Asia Pacific region, there are 7 airports that won this award in which 3 airports are in Indonesia, 3 airports in India and 1 airport in China.
The three airports in Indonesia that have won the Best Hygiene Measures by Region (Asia-Pacific) award are all airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung) and Depati Amir Airport (Pangkalpinang).
The Best Hygiene Measures by Region award itself is a new category of the 2020 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, where in this category what is measured is the effectiveness of the safety & hygiene program, clarity of signs and instructions related to safety and hygiene programs, the ability of airport staff to apply safety and hygiene program.
In addition, it is also measured in terms of a traveler's level of confidence regarding safety and hygiene programs, as well as the level of pressure based on experience.
"This award provides airports with a reliable method of measuring customer response to health [protocol] measures and recognizes the success of airports in responding to [customer] focus on hygienic aspects," ACI explained in a written statement on March 1, 2021.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the achievement of these 3 airports was the success of all stakeholders in implementing hygiene and health protocols.

PT Angksasa Pura II Director of Operation Muhamad Wasid said that in the midst of this pandemic the company for the first time in Indonesia introduced the concept of Biosafety and Biosecurity Management in strengthening the hygienic aspects of all airports.
Biosafety Management has a number of programs to break the chain of biological hazard transmission, namely biohazard precautions, environment screening, infrastructure sterilization, public health assurance, and laboratory testing facilities.
