PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the company had taken a number of anticipatory steps to strengthen the drainage system at the airport.

"In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Transportation when conducting an inspection at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport some time ago, we have taken anticipatory steps, both short and long term, to ensure that Halim Perdanakusuma Airport remains flood-free at the peak of the rainy season earlier this year so that flights can run. smooth and community activities are not disturbed. "

The drainage system at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is currently reinforced by two water catchment pools, namely the one on the north and south sides.

Director of Technic of PT Angkasa Pura II, Agus Wialdi, said that last year and earlier this year there was an increase in the capacity of the two absorption ponds.

"The capacity of the infiltration pond has been increased. In January - February 2020, the widening and additional storage ponds on the south side were completed. Then, in November 2020, there will be further widening and deepening in the north and south side ponds, "said Agus Wialdi.

Meanwhile, continued Agus Wialdi, in February 2021, the southern pool will be deepened again by digging using a heavy backhoe so that it can hold more water.

“First, the retention pond is drained from the water using a pump. Then, the backhoe heavy equipment enters the pool for digging so that the water capacity can be more. Overall, currently Halim Perdanakusuma Airport already has an adequate pool, "said Agus Wialdi.

Agus Wialdi continued, the water channel on the air side to be precise along Taxiway C to the cargo area has also been widened and normalized.

"We also ensure that the manholes and drainage channels can function properly. All the sluices in the holding pool are also guaranteed to work properly. "

Water pump car
The Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is currently also reinforced by a water pump car from the Ciliwung River Basin - Cisadane River Basin as ammunition to ensure the airport is flood-free.

Executive General Manager of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Marsma Pnb TNI Nandang Sukarna said the pump car had been in use since February 8, 2021.

"With the support from the PUPR Ministry, pump cars from the Ciliwung - Cisadane River Basin Area have arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on February 7. Then, on February 8, the pump car was used to support the flood-free Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, "said Marsma Pnb TNI Nandang Sukarna.

In addition to adding and increasing the capacity of the drainage system infrastructure, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport also implements new procedures to anticipate flooding, such as special checks are carried out in all areas when it rains for more than 1 hour, then the frequency of cleaning garbage in the storage pool area and drainage channels is increased, and continuous coordination with the Ministry of PUPR and Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base regarding the drainage system.

Halim Perdanakusuma Airport has a total area of ​​about 165 hectares, with an aircraft passenger terminal area of ​​21,108 square meters, an apron area of ​​152,100 square meters, a cargo area of ​​1,685 square meters, and a runway with dimensions of 3,000 x 45 meters.

The number of passenger movements at this airport had touched 6 million people per year.

This airport is known as multiple airports that serve various types of flights, namely regular scheduled flights, charter flights, VIP / VVIP flights, military flights, medivac (medical) flights, cargo flights, private flights, and training flights.

Halim Perdanakusuma Airport also supports the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in DKI Jakarta, especially related to health protocols such as implementing distance guarding, requiring the use of masks, and ensuring airplane passengers meet the requirements for traveling by plane, such as having a valid COVID-19 test. .
