Efforts to Accelerate Covid-19 Recovery Rate, PT Angkasa Pura II Realizes 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' Program in Ban Province

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as the Coordinator of the BUMN National Disaster Task Force for Handling COVID-19 in the Banten Province Region invites all COVID-19 survivors to donate conventional plasma.

Today, Monday, February 8, 2021, PT Angkasa Pura II and 33 other BUMNs, together with PMI Kota Tangerang, PMI Tangerang Regency and PMI Tangerang Selatan launched the 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' program in the Banten region.

The launch of the program in Banten coincided with the launch of the 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' program nationally by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir and Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, Jusuf Kalla.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the company and 33 other BUMNs were collaborating with PMI to try to increase the availability of conventional plasma in Banten through a number of innovations.

"Today we launched the 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' program in Banten. We will regularly appeal to BUMN employees in Banten, who are COVID-19 survivors, to please become conventional plasma donors. In addition, there will be a 'pick-up' service to make it easier for donors to do conventional plasma donors in Banten by PMI Kota Tangerang, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Increasing the availability of convalescent plasma in Banten
Director of Finance of PT Angkasa Pura II Wiweko Probojakti said that PMI Kota Tangerang had said that it would provide facilities to come to the donor's location to facilitate donor implementation.

"PMI Kota Tangerang has said that it will provide a 'pick-up' service for COVID-19 survivors who want to do conventional plasma donors. This is something very good, because it makes it easier for donors, "said Wiweko Probojakti who is usually called Dodit at the launch of" BUMN Plasma for Indonesia "at the UTD PMI Laboratory Service Unit in Tangerang City.

Dodit hopes that the 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' program in Banten will run smoothly and will increase the availability of convalescent plasma so that it can accelerate the rate of cure for COVID-19.

In the same place, the Chairman of PMI Tangerang, Oman Jumansah, said that the pick-up service in the plasma donor process will still follow the applicable terms and conditions.

Before a COVID-19 survivor can donate plasma, a sample will be taken first.

"For those who want to donate or donate convalescent plasma, for example those concerned are working, we will take samples at work. Then the sample is taken to the lab for examination. If you meet the requirements, we will offer you whether you want to donate in the lab or we will pick you up to the location. We are ready to pick up and drop off to make it easier, and most importantly people [survivors] don't be afraid to donate, ”said Oman Jumansah.

To date, 32 COVID-19 survivors have registered as convalescent plasma donors in this program.

Meanwhile, during the national launch of the 'BUMN Plasma for Indonesia' program, Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir said, “Cooperation between BUMN and PMI can continue, that 400cc [conventional plasma] can save 2 human lives. This is very important, we must reduce the number of deaths in Indonesia. "

Meanwhile, PMI Chairman Jusuf Kalla said based on research conducted in Malang and Surabaya, the success rate of therapy using conventional plasma for patients exposed to COVID-19 reached 90%.

As many as 34 BUMNs in Banten have continuously supported efforts to deal with COVID-19 in this province.

PT Angkasa Pura II has distributed around Rp. 11 billion to support efforts to prevent COVID-19, which includes the distribution of basic necessities, personal protective equipment (PPE), medicines, vitamins, and outreach to the community at 19 airports managed by the company.
