Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has completed the construction of the main airside facility (airside) of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport in Purbalingga.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the main facilities on the air side with 100 percent construction were runways, taxiways and aprons.
With the completion of this construction, Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport will be equipped with a runway with dimensions of 1,600 x 30 meters, an apron with an area of 69 x 103 meters and a taxiway with a width of 15 meters.
This air side capacity can be used to serve twin propeller aircraft such as the ATR 72-600.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said that the construction of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport was carried out about 2 years ago.
About 2 years ago, PT Angkasa Pura II began building the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport from scratch, the term is from land which is still greenfield land. Now, Purbalingga already has an airport with all air side developments being carried out by the nation's children. Hopefully what we all do can bring benefits to the development of air connectivity in the country. "
"After the construction of the main air-side facilities is 100% complete, the next process is verification by the civil aviation regulator, namely the Ministry of Transportation," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
As for today the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto together with the ranks of the Directorate General of Air Transportation conducted a proofing flight at Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport.
The King Air plane with the PK-CAN registration number used for the proofing flight landed smoothly on the new runway of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport before 09.00 WIB carrying 6 passengers and 3 crew members.
When visiting Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport, the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto was accompanied by the Director of Engineering of PT Angkasa Pura II Agus Wialdi.
"On today's proofing flight, the landing went smoothly and smoothly. We will coordinate with PT Angkasa Pura II to carry out verification, "said the Director General of Civil Aviation.
In the initial stage, after the verification process is over and obtaining approval from regulators, Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport will be opened for minimal operation, in collaboration with TNI AU Air Force Base Jenderal Besar Soedirman to use Indonesian Air Force facilities as land-side facilities such as passenger terminals, PK- PPK and so on.
PT Angkasa Pura II Director of Engineering Agus Wialdi said, "Later PT Angkasa Pura II will also build a passenger terminal with a capacity of up to 300,000 passengers / year. In the initial stage, passenger movements are projected to be around 98,000 passengers / year with 4,500 aircraft movements. "
