The Company introduces the Indonesian Gateway (Proud Movement of the Indonesian Nation's Children)
Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is committed to supporting the growth of small, micro and medium enterprises (UMKM).
Earlier this year, Soekarno-Hatta Airport became one of the launch sites for the National Proud Indonesian Movement (Gernas BBI) initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs & Investment and the Ministry of Transportation.
As part of the effort to support Gernas BBI, today Saturday 30 January 2021, the company introduced the Proud Movement of the Indonesian Nation's Children (Indonesian Gate) program to the wider community, especially MSME players.
The program, which will be run at the company's airports, was introduced at the same time as the holding of the webinar “MSME Training: MSME Business Development and Development in the Adaptation of New Habits” which was attended by hundreds of MSME players.
“MSMEs have higher agility compared to big businesses. MSMEs are indeed the fastest to fall by the crisis, but also the fastest to rise up and find new opportunities in the midst of a crisis, "said President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin in a keynote speech in the talkshow.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Awaluddin has also published two books on MSME development, namely Digital Entrepreneurshift and Digital Championshift.
"In the book I stated that the use of technology is very important, but that does not mean that when MSMEs use technology they will be immediately successful. It is necessary to understand the ins and outs of business by utilizing technology and understand strategies or tactics, and become part of the digital market ecosystem, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin added that collective action from various sectors was needed to support the revival of MSMEs. In this case, airports have the advantage of participating in developing MSMEs in terms of product marketing and other supporting programs.
"The airport is the gateway to the country and also connects regional connectivity throughout Indonesia as well as a place where many parties interact, so it has a huge market potential along with the high movement of passengers at the airport. Therefore, we are introducing the Indonesian Gateway program. "
EGM of Airport Service Division of PT Angkasa Pura II Anandita Galuh Wardhani Indonesia Gate program has 3 main programs, namely: Airport as the main gate for MSME development (incubation, training and promotion); Airport as a place for MSME transactional activities; and airports as tourism and cultural hubs of Indonesia.
Airport program as a place for developing UMKM
In the MSME development program, AP II airport will continuously carry out training and incubations to accelerate the success of developing beginner MSMEs by providing various resources and services.
Meanwhile, promotional programs are carried out offline and online.
"Promotion programs through offline, for example, the existence of digital UMKM showcases at airports, then campaigns through existing digital banners and videotrons, then through booths in various airport areas, as well as campaigns for the use of UMKM products, including by AP II. Meanwhile, for online, promotion is carried out through social media expose, talk shows through podcasts, and other activations, "added Anandita Galuh Wardhani.
Airport program as a transactional center for MSME products
PT Angkasa Pura II this year made the airport a transactional center for MSMEs, by building the UMKM Airport Mall concept.
"To build the UMKM Airport Mall concept, 10% of the commercial area at the airport is designated specifically for MSMEs. Through Aiport Mall UMKM, we hope that UMKM products will be increasingly recognized, easy to obtain, and not inferior to brands that previously had big names, "explained Anandita Galuh Wardhani.
Muhammad Awaluddin said that the UMKM Airport Mall concept would be very appropriate to run at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, especially in Terminal 3 which already has a concept as a mall.
"Every day, the movement of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the normal period reaches 200,000 people every day. And, in contrast to malls / supermarkets which are busy at certain hours and on certain days, at the airport in normal conditions almost every day the movement of passengers is quite stable from morning to night, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Airport program as a tourism and cultural hub
Scheduled and consistently AP II airports will showcase Indonesian arts and culture performances, as well as hold UMKM exhibitions and bazaars. As for those who have carried out this program consistently, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, was Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
With the Indonesian National Proud Movement (Gernas BBI) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport which was then followed by the Proud Movement of the Indonesian Nation's Children (Indonesian Gate), it is hoped that PT Angkasa Pura II airports can be optimal and maximal in supporting the development of MSMEs.
