Minister of Transportation Inspection to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Ensure Flight Safety

Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi today, Sunday 17 January 2021, conducted an inspection to ensure flight safety at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. At Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, around 09.00 WIB, the Minister of Transportation went directly to check the readiness of the Batik Air aircraft (ramp check) PK-LBH registration number on the air side. The ramp check in daily operations is carried out by an inspector appointed by the regulator. "Today we are carrying out a ramp check, a process in which all aircraft that will be running are carried out prior research on engine functions and movement functions. Therefore, we ensure that the aircraft that will take off at all airports in Indonesia with a proper qualification, "said the Minister of Transportation. Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto, explained that a detailed check is carried out in the ramp check to ensure the aircraft's feasibility to operate, including, among other things, checking the aircraft log book related to engines, structure and operations. Collaboration of stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport The Minister of Transportation said that the role of airport operators is also quite important in supporting aviation safety, especially in relation to aircraft movements while in the airport area. In the same place, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said coordination was carried out between PT Angkasa Pura II and AirNav Indonesia to ensure the safety of aircraft movements while at the airport. "The ground movement is carried out in coordination with AirNav Indonesia, so that aircraft movements are ensured to meet safety aspects," said Muhammad Awaluddin. AirNav Indonesia is a flight navigation service provider that operates Air Traffic Controller (ATC) towers including at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The ATC tower personnel are in charge of monitoring flight traffic. Muhammad Awaluddin said the collaboration between PT Angkasa Pura II as the manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport and AirNav Indonesia was implemented through a technology-based concept, namely Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM). "Apart from PT Angkasa Pura II and AirNav Indonesia, other stakeholders collaborating on the A-CDM concept are ground handling parties that support airline operations such as handling passengers, passenger baggage, cargo, and providing various equipment for aircraft movement on the ground. "Said Muhammad Awaluddin. This A-CDM concept promotes closer collaboration between PT Angkasa Pura II, AirNav Indonesia, ground handling parties, and airlines. "The output produced from the collaboration through A-CDM is the maintenance of aviation safety aspects and the high level of on time performance (OTP) of airlines so that the safety, security, service through compliance or known as 3S + 1C can always be fulfilled by stakeholders in Soekarno-Hatta Airport, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
