Jakarta - Close synergy is shown by the national aviation and tourism sector in an effort to prevent imported cases or the spread of SARS-CoV-2 variant B117 from abroad to Indonesia.
PT Angkasa Pura II together with airlines (aviation sector) synergizes with hotel operators who are members of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association - PHRI (tourism sector) in carrying out the quarantine process for international passengers (Indonesian citizens and foreigners) arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Air Task Force Colonel Pas M.A Silaban (TNI AU) said the quarantine was carried out by all international passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on December 28, 2020 - January 3, 2021, totaling 10,899 people and the majority of whom were Indonesian citizens.
"The quarantine process will not run well if there is no synergy between all stakeholders in the aviation sector and the tourism sector, in this case the hotel operator."
"Thanks to the synergy, data on international flight plans, the number of international passengers, and room availability in quarantine hotels in Jakarta and Tangerang can be done. As a result, the implementation of quarantine can run well and there are no issues at all at the airport, ”said Colonel Pas M.A Silaban.
Colonel Pas M.A Silaban said that the quarantine provisions for international passengers arriving in Indonesia are listed in the Addendum to Circular No. 03/2020 and SE No. 04/2020.
"According to SE No. 03/2020, international travelers, namely Indonesian citizens and foreigners who arrive in Indonesia on December 28 - 31, 2020, must quarantine for 5 days at the designated location," said Colonel Pas M.A Silaban.
Then, the next provision is listed in SE Number 04/2020 which confirms the closure of the entry of foreigners from all countries to Indonesia on January 1 - 14, 2021, except for foreigners who meet the exclusion criteria in accordance with this circular.
"On January 1 - 14, 2021, the entry of foreigners to Indonesia will be closed, except for foreigners who meet the exclusion criteria in accordance with SE Number 04/2020, namely holders of diplomatic visas and official visas related to official visits of foreign officials at ministerial level and above; the holder of a diplomatic residence permit and an official residence permit; KITAS and KITAP holders, "said Colonel Pas M.A Silaban.
Kasatgas Air Colonel Pas M.A Silaban added, "For foreigners who are exempt and allowed to enter Indonesia, quarantine is also carried out for 5 days."
As for Indonesian citizens, quarantine is still in effect for those returning to Indonesia in the period until January 14, 2021 at the expense of the government.
The number of foreign passengers dropped dramatically
As for the period of enactment of Addendum SE Number 03/2020 (28 - 31 December 2020) the number of international passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was 7,785 people, consisting of 4,653 Indonesians and 3,132 foreigners.
Meanwhile, in the validity period of SE 04/2020 (1 - 3 January 2021) the number of international passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was recorded as 3,114 people, consisting of 2,734 Indonesians and 380 foreigners.
"The existing data shows that the number of passengers on international routes dropped drastically during the enactment of SE No. 04/2020. The existence of this circular is very effective, because indeed only foreigners with certain criteria are allowed to enter Indonesia, "said Colonel Pas M.A Silaban.
In total on December 28, 2020 - January 3, 2021, the number of international passengers consisting of Indonesian citizens and foreigners who landed in Indonesia was recorded at 10,899 people.
HORE application
Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi said PT Angkasa Pura II made the Hotel Monitoring and Reservation (HORE) System application to facilitate coordination between stakeholders.
"Through the HORE application, Soekarno-Hatta Airport can submit flight plans and the number of international passengers, hotel operators can convey the number of rooms available, and the COVID-19 Handling Air Task Force can determine quarantine locations according to the Covid-19 protocol."
"This will be very helpful in implementing the quarantine until January 14," said Agus Haryadi.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Hariyadi Sukamdani said PHRI fully supports the fulfillment of quarantine provisions for international travelers by preparing at least 105 hotels with an allocation of 10,200 - 10,500 quarantine hotel rooms in the Jakarta and Tangerang areas as quarantine locations.
