Welcoming New Year 2021, As Many As 1,000 People Free Antigen Rapid Test at Soekarno-Hatta Airport!

Jakarta - Welcoming the New Year 2021, Soekarno-Hatta Airport on December 31, 2020 or right on the last day of 2020, conducted a free rapid antigen test for 1,000 people.

The free antigen rapid test is carried out by distributing vouchers to 100 airport workers and 900 potential airplane passengers who have special economy class flight tickets departing December 31.

The distribution of vouchers is carried out near the locations of Airport Health Center Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Director of Operation and Service Muhamad Wasid said the spirit of implementing this free antigen rapid test was a form of support for the implementation of as many COVID-19 tests as possible in Indonesia.

"Welcoming the New Year 2021, we are conducting free rapid antigen tests on 1,000 people at the Airport Health Center of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, as a form of PT Angkasa Pura II's support for the implementation of as many COVID-19 tests as possible. We hope that the implementation of this activity can help support efforts to deal with COVID-19, "explained Muhamad Wasid.

As is known, the rapid antigen test is one of the conditions that must be met by prospective passengers on domestic routes to be able to fly in the Christmas and New Year 2020/2021 transport periods.

Muhamad Wasid said that similar activities could be carried out on other occasions and at other PT Angkasa Pura II airports to support the handling of COVID-19.

"PT Angkasa Pura II manages 19 airports, and we will see if a similar activity can be carried out at other airports," said Muhamad Wasid.

Meanwhile, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi said Soekarno-Hatta Airport has 7 Airport Health Center points with services that are increasingly established and reliable in accommodating the needs of prospective aircraft passenger antigen rapid tests.

"Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with Kimia Farma and Indofarma is very reliable and well-established in supporting prospective aircraft passengers to meet health protocols. That's why we can also carry out a free rapid antigen test on 1,000 people without disturbing the need for COVID-19 testing for other potential airplane passengers, "said Agus Haryadi.

The Airport Health Center at Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport can now also be used by the general public to carry out a COVID-19 test, be it a rapid antigen test or PCR test.

The opening of the Airport Health Center Terminal 1 to serve the public is also expected to support the increasing number of COVID-19 tests in the area around Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
