Jakarta - Coinciding with the International Migrant Day, Friday 18 December 2020, a number of facilities for International Migrant Workers (PMI) were inaugurated at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The inauguration of these facilities was symbolically carried out by the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir together with the Head of BP2MI Benny Rhamdani at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.

The Minister of BUMN said that these facilities were the result of cooperation between various agencies to provide the best service for foreign exchange heroes.

"It is proven that today the state is present. We can show that our nation is moving up in class. All this can be done as long as we dare to dream and dare to execute," said the Minister of BUMN.

Meanwhile the Head of BP2MI Benny Ramdhani said, "All VVIP facilities at Soekarno Hatta Airport are given to give respect to the state to family fighters and foreign exchange fighters who have been willing to sacrifice for the welfare of themselves and their families," said the Head of BP2MI Benny Ramdhani.

5 Special Facilities
At Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which is the largest gateway point in Indonesia for PMI departures and arrivals, PT Angkasa Pura II together with BP2MI have prepared 5 special facilities for Indonesia's foreign exchange heroes.

First, a special migration facility (fast track special lane) to support the smooth return of PMI.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said, "So far, special lanes are only available for diplomatic passport holders, flight crews, and airplane passengers in business class or first class. Since yesterday, Soekarno-Hatta Airport officially opened a special lane service for PMI. This is a form of respect for all stakeholders of Soekarno-Hatta Airport for PMI who have been very useful to Indonesia, ”explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

The second facility is a lounge for PMI which is located in the International Terminal 3 area to be precise on the 3rd floor, close to the passenger drop off lobby in the parking building area.

The lounge is equipped with facilities like the executive lounge at the airport, for the convenience of PMI. In addition, in the lounge there is also a money changer operated by BNI to make it easier for PMI to exchange currencies according to the destination country.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said, "The location of the PMI Lounge is very close to the passenger drop off lobby in the international Terminal 3 parking building. So, once PMI gets off the delivery vehicle, they can go straight to the Lounge which is not far away. "

Then the third facility is the help desk center area in Terminal 3 which can provide various information to PMI when returning from abroad.

The fourth facility is a booth gallery for sales and promotion by displaying products from PMI who have returned to Indonesia and have become entrepreneurs. This gallery booth is located at SMMILE Center Terminal 3, an open space with a green area which is also equipped with commercial tenants.

Then, the Fifth Facility is all digital media in the Terminal 3 area that can be used to inform the BP2MI program for PMI services and protection

Protection for PMI at the airport
PT Angkasa Pura II as a state-owned airport managing airport strengthens coordination with other stakeholders at the airport to always provide protection for PMI.

"As the Head of BP2MI said, PMI is a special citizen, VVIP citizen, foreign exchange hero whose protection must be guaranteed, including at the airport. This is in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction so that PMI protection also covers the time of departure and arrival in the country, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

PT Angkasa Pura II will ensure that there are no individuals who take the opportunity or seek profit from PMI.

"We have built a system with airport stakeholders to prevent any elements that can harm aircraft passengers including PMI while at the airport."

Close cooperation is also established between PT Angkasa Pura II and BP2MI so that we can exchange information about allegations of illegal acts related to the handling of PMI, so that this can be handled quickly.
