AP II introduced Nakula as the advanced technology for the first aviation security facility in Indonesia

Jakarta - The COVID-19 test at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can now be done in open spaces equipped with green areas to provide more comfort for travelers.

The test location is the newest Airport Health Center facility in the SMMILE Center area of Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The Airport Health Center which recently opened at the SMMILE Center is operated by a partner of PT Angkasa Pura II, namely PT Indofarma Tbk, through its subsidiary, Farmalab, to provide antibody rapid test services. In the future, services will be added for the rapid antigen test, PCR test and ID Now test.

Not only that, near this location there is also a rapid test drive thru service, making it easier for travelers to prepare for trips.

The existence of the Airport Health Center at the SMMILE Center is also one of the preparations for PT Angkasa Pura II in supporting the smooth running of flights in the Christmas and New Year 2020/2021 transportation period.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the pandemic that hit this made the company innovate to always support being able to easily undergo health protocols, one of which is by presenting an Airport Health Center.

"The Airport Health Center at SMMILE Center Terminal 3 is an effort by PT Angkasa Pura II to provide a complete COVID-19 test service and of course carried out by partners who have expertise in this regard, Farmalab, which is a subsidiary of Indofarma. The existence of this test location, along with the drive thru test, is also one of our preparations for welcoming Nataru transportation. "

“We chose a location at the SMMILE Center so that travelers can feel more comfortable when doing the test. This location is an open area equipped with a green area and on the other side of the test location there are also a number of commercial tenants, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

President Director of Indofarma Arief Pramuhanto said that the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and a number of other airports was a form of collaboration to support the national aviation sector in the midst of this pandemic.

Meanwhile, Terminal 2 is still operating the Airport Health Center for rapid antibody tests.

The tariff for the antibody rapid test service, including a doctor's certificate, both at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is IDR 85,000 for each traveler.

Nataru preparations
In welcoming the Nataru transportation period, PT Angkasa Pura II has increased the readiness of the aspects of human resources (People), main and supporting facilities (Facilities) and implementation of procedures (Process).

In line with that, Soekarno-Hatta Airport before Nataru introduced an innovation in raising the standard of aviation security facilities through the use of the first advanced technology-based explosive containment in Indonesia, which was named Nakula.

Through Nakula, the airport can carry out counter-terrorism activities quickly, especially on checked baggage that is suspected of being a safety threat.

Baggage suspected of containing hazardous material can be sent directly to the Nakula as an emergency disposal procedure.

All operations are carried out remotely (remotely) without touching objects. The Nakula will protect the surrounding area from harmful effects such as explosions, where the withstand capacity is up to 5 kg of TNT. The poisonous gas that arises can also be isolated by Nakula so that threats to humans and infrastructure can be handled.

The next process is that the Explosive Squad can pull Nakula to the Disposal Area to be dismantled on the object of the explosion. All Nakula operations can be carried out remotely using a remote control.

Another facility improvement ahead of this Nataru is the opening of a new large canopy area in the domestic arrival pick-up area of Terminal 3 to provide comfort for passengers waiting for private vehicles. This area is planned to open on December 15, 2020.

On December 10, 2020, it is also planned to use a new facade that is more aesthetically pleasing than before, which also has a function to smooth the flow of passengers to Security Check Point 2 with a wider area and more queues.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport and other airports under PT Angkasa Pura II continuously improve the ability of people, facilities and process aspects as part of our efforts to maintain flight connectivity in Indonesia," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
