Leading Digital, PT Angkasa Pura II Modernizes Sub Tower AMC Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Improve Flight Services

22 Nov 2020

Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi on Saturday, November 21, 2020, reviewed the operations of the Sub Tower Apron Movement Control (AMC) in Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

As is known, the AMC Sub Tower is the center for monitoring and controlling movement / traffic in the apron of Terminal 3. The apron itself can be interpreted as an area of the air side adjacent to the passenger terminal where the aircraft can be parked to raise / lower passengers, load / unload cargo, fill fuel, and so on.

The AMC Sub Tower at Terminal 3 is the only one in Indonesia, operated since 2016 in line with the fairly high flight traffic at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and to support the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Tower operated by AirNav Indonesia.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi reminded personnel at AMC Sub Tower to stay alert and focus on managing traffic at the apron so that the entire operation of Soekarno-Hatta Airport can always run safely and smoothly.

PT Angkasa Pura II also always improves the operating system capabilities of the Sub Tower AMC Terminal 3, where this year the Flight Progress Strip (FPS) has been digitized in line with the development of the Infrastructure & Operation System aspects in Transformation 2.0 which the company runs in 2020 - 2024.

FPS is the flight plan data used by AMC Sub Tower personnel as the basis for guiding aircraft in the movement area.

"Previously, the FPS data was written on paper, aka manual. And, this year, digitalization has been carried out so that the FPS data can be displayed more quickly on an operating platform so that it greatly helps personnel at Tower AMC to be able to guide aircraft and provide instructions quickly and precisely, "explained President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad. Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said, "The implementation of FPS digitization is one of the company's forms of applying the Leading Digital concept, namely an effort to strengthen PT Angkasa Pura II through digitizing all aspects including services, operations and business. Through digitization, we are taking the domestic airport management industry to the next level. "

Muhammad Awaluddin added that the modernization of Tower AMC T3 can clearly improve safety, security, services through compliance (3S + 1C) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Meanwhile, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Executive General Manager Agus Haryadi said, "Through the digitization of FPS, it is hoped that it can have an impact on increasing the level of on time performance (OTP) of flights from airlines."

The application of the Leading Digital concept greatly supports the maintenance of services and operations at PT Angkasa Pura II airports, including in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic.

This Leading Digital implementation is the development of 3 digital platforms known as the DROID Platform: INAirports, iPerform and Smart ACDM.

INAirports, which is an airport information and service ecosystem platform for customers / travelers via iOS and Android.

Meanwhile, iPerform is a platform to monitor airport operations in real time and other information to facilitate employee work in all units.

AP II also pioneered the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport as a platform for integrating external ecosystems to implement Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM). This platform is known as Smart A-CDM.
