Holding accelerates the transformation of the company's business & portfolio to the Airport Business Ecosystem


Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is optimistic that the holding of BUMN Tourism and Support can help the industry to rebound more quickly after being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, the majority of air travel, up to 78.5%, is for tourism that has collaboration between the tourism chains, namely 3A: Accessibility, amenities, attraction.

Meanwhile, the holding company for the BUMN Tourism and Supporting SOEs is PT Penas Air Survey with holding members of PT Angkasa Pura II, PT Angkasa Pura I, Garuda Indonesia (Accessibilities); Then Inna Hotels & Resorts and Sarinah (Amenities); and Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation and Temple Tourism Park (Attractions).

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said collaboration within the holding could accelerate the growth of related SOEs in dealing with COVID-19 and during the recovery period.

"Holding creates a single coordination in developing the master plan and integrates the advantages of each BUMN in this holding ecosystem, so that the existing potential can be optimized to advance the tourism industry in Indonesia."

"The step in the formation of the Tourism and Supporting SOEs Holding can support the National Economic Recovery [PEN] program. For the community, the benefits that will be there will be more availability of quality, affordable and integrated tourism products and services, ”explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

As for PT Angkasa Pura II itself, the benefits of this holding are to encourage the optimization of portfolio management, better service and operational standards, expand expansion opportunities, maximize the development of national and global connectivity, and increase human resource capacity.

"We believe that PT Angkasa Pura II will continue to grow in terms of corporate governance, business, and contribution in strengthening the tourism industry, which can be felt by the public, especially regarding air travel and tourism," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that this holding was the pioneer of an ecosystem-based BUMN holding in Indonesia.

The holding of BUMN Tourism and Supporters is also in line with the second phase of PT Angkasa Pura II's transformation, namely the Second Curve Transformation 2020 - 2024, especially related to Business & Portfolio Transformation.

Airport Business Ecosystem
In this Second Curve Transformation, PT Angkasa Pura II is increasing its capacity to be able to revive the business ecosystem.

"PT Angkasa Pura II's arena is getting wider and not only related to airport operations. However, it becomes the entire Airport Business Ecosystem, for example digital portfolios such as e-payments and big data, then consumable portfolios such as Food & Beverages, to entertainment portfolios such as events, edutainment, showbiz.
