PT Angkasa Pura II Introduces New Health Service Portfolio at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

These facilities support safe and healthy flights

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) introduced healthcare facilities as a new business portfolio to support the core business of airport management amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare facilities such as rapid test facilities are currently available at a number of airports managed by the company. And, the newest facility is the PCR Test facility which was built in the international arrival corridor of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The shelter of the PCR Test facility in collaboration with PT Indofarma Tbk consists of several areas, namely the waiting room and administrative management, the sampling area and the storage room for specimens and consumables.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said that health facilities are now quite important at an airport.

"In the past, perhaps the focus of the airport was related to operations and services. Now with this pandemic, the health sector is no less important. Therefore, PT Angkasa Pura II has added a new portfolio in the health sector to support the airport management business. "

"The facilities for taking the PCR Test at the international arrival of Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta already exist, and are ready to be used by our partners, namely Farmalab which is a subsidiary of Indofarma," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, PT Angkasa Pura II signed an MoU with PT Bio Farma (Persero) some time ago to discuss cooperation in developing healthcare facilities at the airport. In addition, PT Angkasa Pura II has also collaborated with PT Kimia Farma Tbk in providing pharmacies at the company's airports.

Muhammad Awaluddin said that the expansion of PT Angkasa Pura II's portfolio by penetrating the health sector could not be separated from the application of the concept of Biosecurity and Biosafety Management at the company's airports in the midst of a pandemic.

Biosecurity Management is implemented through physical comparison programs, health screening, passenger touchless processing, people protection and facility cleanliness. Meanwhile, Biosafety Management through biohazard precautions, environment screening, infrastructure sterilization, testing lab facilities and public health assurance.

Supporting aviation in the midst of a pandemic
The existence of healthcare facilities at the airport is expected to create smooth flights / connectivity in the midst of this pandemic, such as supporting the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) between Indonesia - Singapore which requires a passenger PCR Test under the scheme.

It does not rule out the possibility of healthcare facilities for taking PCR tests for airplane passengers also being opened at other airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.
