Jakarta - A total of 30 Airport Service Quality Awards (ASQ Awards) from the Airport Council International (ACI) landed in Indonesia on September 14, 2020 to be immediately handed over to 9 PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Airports.

The airports that received the award were Soekarno-Hatta (Tangerang), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang), Silangit (North Tapanuli), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang ), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru) and Supadio (Pontianak).

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the 30 awards sent from ACI were an encouragement for all company staff to always provide the best service to maintain Indonesia's air connectivity amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"PT Angkasa Pura II is grateful that in the midst of a pandemic that presents quite a number of challenges, we officially received 30 award certificates from ACI. Of course this is more encouraging for all company staff in the midst of a pandemic, ”said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The 2019 ASQ Awards was pinned by ACI to the 9 airports of PT Angkasa Pura II for the appreciation of these airports for being able to provide the best customer experience based on the opinions of aircraft passengers.

The opinions of passengers were obtained through the ASQ survey process at 380 airports in 90 countries and involved 8.8 million plane passengers.

ACI Director General Luis Felipe De Oliveira, in his letter to PT Angkasa Pura II, congratulated PT Angkasa Pura II on the achievement of PT Angkasa Pura II at the 2019 ASQ Awards.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport's ranking went up
Skytrax is also providing good information in the midst of this pandemic.

Last May, Skytrax informed that the ranking of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the World’s Top 100 Airport 2020 rose to 35th position.

Previously, Soekarno-Hatta in 2019 was ranked 40th, then in 2018 it was ranked 45th, 2017 was ranked 44th and 2016 was ranked 63th.

"The improving ranking of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the list of the best airports in the world is in line with the digital transformation that has been carried out since 2016 with the concept of Digitally Ready Enterprise by utilizing state of the art technology. The news from Skytrax about Soekarno-Hatta's rise in rank is also an encouragement for PT Angkasa Pura II in presenting world-class services even though we are currently in the midst of a pandemic, ”explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said PT Angkasa Pura II was also very grateful for the role of all stakeholders so that it was able to bring the company's airports to appreciation from the global industry.
