DKI Jakarta Again Implements PSBB, Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Are Ready to Tighten Health Protocols

10 Sep 2020

The movement of airplane passengers is not expected to be significantly affected

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and stakeholders strictly implement health protocols at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

The strictness of this health protocol supports the re-establishment of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in DKI Jakarta starting September 14, 2020.

Health protocol at PT Angkasa Pura II airport focuses on physical distanding, health screening, touchless processing, facility cleanliness & sanitizing, and protection of every individual at the airport (people) protection).

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said every personnel at the airport made sure that the 5 focuses could be realized at every airport including Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma.

"Checking the traveler's body temperature is carried out at the departure and arrival terminals, then checking the results of the rapid test and PCR test is carried out strictly with an excellent queuing process. In all areas of the airport, disinfection is routinely carried out and various facilities such as hand sanitizers and sinks are provided. Everyone at the passenger terminal is also required to wear a mask. "

"It is also possible to tighten the health protocol at Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma Airports, for example by adding aviation security personnel or customer service, increasing the frequency of disinfection in the airport area, adding hand sanitizer points, hand washing facilities, and various efforts to maintain airport cleanliness and hygiene. , "Explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Passenger movement amidst the re-implementation of the PSBB
As for this month (1 - 8 September 2020), the average movement of passengers at 19 PT Angkasa Pura II airports is 66,032 people / day. Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the average passenger movement reaches 38,852 people / per day.

PT Angkasa Pura II estimates that the implementation of the PSBB in DKI Jakarta next week will not have a significant impact on the movement of passengers at 19 airports including Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"The full PSBB in DKI Jakarta on September 14 will be determined after there is a new psychological figure for passenger movements amid the pandemic. This is different when the PSBB was implemented for the first time, which was not far when the flight was in normal conditions, so that there was a significant decrease in passenger movements in April 2020, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

In addition, public trust in the aviation sector has also begun to be maintained thanks to the implementation of strict health protocols implemented by PT Angkasa Pura II and stakeholders including airlines, the Ministry of Health's Port Health Office (KKP Kemenkes), and the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that currently the flight conditions at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were still within the corridor of regulations stipulated in accordance with the Circular of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Number SE 13/2020.

Based on the circular, the maximum number of busy time passengers at the airport terminal is 50%. Meanwhile, at Soekarno-Hatta, the average is only 35% of capacity. The load factor is limited to a maximum of 70%, while the number of airplane passengers departing from Soekarno-Hatta is currently around 52% - 54% of the aircraft capacity.

"Looking at existing data, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is still very optimal and maximal in operating by prioritizing health protocols in the midst of this pandemic," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

The operation of all PT Angkasa Pura II airports also complies with the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. PM 41/2020 concerning Amendments to Permenhub No. 18/2020 concerning Control of Transportation in the Context of Preventing the Spread of COVID-19.

Another regulation that becomes the operational guide for PT Angkasa Pura II's airport is the Circular of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 Number 9/2020 concerning Amendments to Circular Letter Number 7/2020 concerning Criteria and Travel Requirements for People in the Adaptation Period for New Habits Towards Productive and Safe Societies COVID-19.
