Soekarno-Hatta's competitiveness increased at the regional level

Jakarta - A total of 3 new facilities will be operated immediately to increase the competitiveness of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at the regional level.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the new facilities could also spur the recovery of aviation activities at Soekarno-Hatta amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

"Soekarno-Hatta is the main gate as well as the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, where the increase in traffic at Soekarno-Hatta has also boosted traffic for other airports in the country. In the near future, there are three new facilities that will be operated at Soekarno-Hatta. "

"In the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic which presents great challenges, PT Angkasa Pura II and stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta are still trying to present new facilities to encourage economic recovery, especially through the expansion of the air transportation sector," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Here are 3 new facilities that will soon be operated at Soekarno-Hatta Airport:

1. The first commercial heliport in Indonesia
The heliport in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area is planned to be fully operational on August 23, 2020. The heliport, which is managed by Whitsky Aviation, has 7 parking stands for helicopters.

The exact location of this heliport is located on Jalan Perimeter Selatan, occupying an area of 2.7 hectares.

The existence of this heliport can be an alternative transportation using a helicopter for travelers from Jakarta or various other cities to get to Soekarno-Hatta quickly, or vice versa from Soekarno-Hatta to various destination cities.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said, "The existence of the Heliport will clearly increase Soekarno-Hatta's competitiveness at the regional level. Soekarno-Hatta is able to present a more complete flight facility, ”explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Whitesky Aviation CEO Denon B. Prawiraatmadja said Soekarno-Hatta Heliport is connected to 171 helipads in Jakarta.

“Whiteskey services include Helicity for transportation and Helimedivac for medical purposes. The Soekarno-Hatta heliport is connected to 171 helipads in hotels, offices and hospitals, ”said Denon B. Prawiraatmadja.

2. 4 Star Hotel
Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta will start opening hotel services with 4-star facilities, the only one in the airport area.
The hotel has 7 floors and is equipped with 147 rooms consisting of deluxe rooms, deluxe disabled, junior suites, executive suites and deluxe suites.
It is planned that the hotel will be opened in the context of a soft opening in the near future by prioritizing health protocols.
The hotel management is currently under PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo (APP), which is a subsidiary of PT Angkasa Pura II.

"We are currently looking for global hotel operator partners to manage this 4-star hotel for up to 20 years. The cooperation offer for hotel management is also made through the Investment Coordinating Board [BKPM], "explained President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo Agung Sedayu.

3. A steel-structured parking building for motorbikes in Transit Oriented Development (TOD)
In an effort to facilitate access to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, PT Angkasa Pura II built a steel-structured parking building for motorbikes at Transit Oriented Development (TOD) which is located on the back side of the airport or close to Jalan M1.
This parking building can accommodate thousands of motorbikes, complementing the existing parking area which also has a capacity for thousands of motorbikes.
Another facility at this TOD is a free shuttle bus to take you to a number of points in the airport area.
