SOE Minister Pushes Digital Innovation in the midst of a global pandemic COVID-19
Jakarta - Travelation, a digital checking application for flight documents for airplane passengers in the midst of a new habit of adaptation, has now been used in the framework of trials at 19 airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero).
Trials were conducted at all airports in the company in order to socialize the use and hear various inputs from aircraft passengers in the operational area of PT Angkasa Pura II.
"Travelation was first tested at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport last month, and now trials have been conducted at 19 airports in PT Angkasa Pura II. Passenger planes welcome Travelation because it can make strict flight procedures can be carried out simply, where until now the number of users registering on Travelation has reached 15,000 users, "said PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
As is known, at this time the travel documents required by prospective aircraft passengers to be allowed to fly are identification such as KTP, flight tickets, and letters of rapid test results (valid for a maximum of 3 days on departure) or PCR tests (valid for a maximum of 7 days on departure).
Prospective passengers can upload the three documents to the Travelation application via travelation.angkasapura2.co.id to be digitally checked by the administrator. After checking, prospective passengers will get a QR Code to be verified at PT Angkasa Pura II airport.
"This digital checking process can shorten time at the airport, where long lines at the airport can be avoided. Flight procedures are still strictly enforced, but can be carried out more simply. During this trial period, the original PCR test or rapid test results will also be verified at the departure terminal, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
The Travelation application is also connected to the e-HAC (Health Alert Card) which must be filled in by airplane passengers and digitally checked by the Ministry of Health's Port Health Office (KKP Ministry of Health). In addition, the Care Protect application is also connected to Travelation.
As per the Circular Letter for Task Force for the Handling of COVID-19 No. 07/2020, airplane passengers are also required to download the Care Protect application in traveling.
The presence of Travelation has the support of an association that houses the national airline, the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA).
INACA Chairman Denon Prawiraatmadja said Travelation was one of the solutions to foster aircraft passenger confidence in the midst of a pandemic.
"We must go through the procedure without exception in order to prioritize health aspects in the aviation sector. The airlines see this Travelation as a solution so that passengers are easy when undergoing the procedure, "said Denon Prawiraatmadja.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Citilink Indonesia Juliandra Nurtjahjo said that the smooth flight and aspects of service to passengers can be maintained with Travelation.
"Customer experience is very important in the aviation world. We believe that Travelation can maintain the customer experience at the point of departure so that airplane passengers can fulfill the procedure well, "explained Juliandra Nurtjahjo.
Utilization of Digitalization in the middle of a pandemic
Muhammad Awaluddin said the Travelation application is one form of technology utilization by PT Angkasa Pura II in facing the challenges of the global pandemic COVID-19.
"Digitalization is very important and cannot be avoided in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. PT Angkasa Pura II itself has started about digital transformation about operational and service aspects about 4 years ago so that we are ready to bring up new digital-based innovations to deal with this pandemic. "
Muhammad Awaluddin said that in the future Travel was not only used for airplane passengers but also developed as an terminal access control in the form of Airport ID for airport workers and airport visitors to support the principles of security, safety, service and procedural fulfillment, including in the midst of a pandemic.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir also urged that digital utilization be increased in order to restore the economic stretch in the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while continuing to promote health protocols.
Despite being in the midst of a pandemic, the Minister of SOEs has requested that innovation continue.
