24 Hours Standby, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Has Served the Arrival of Repatriation Flights Around 5,700 Indonesian Citizens from Overseas

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport ensured the smooth repatriation of Indonesian citizens' flight services amid the global pandemic COVID-19.

From 2 March 2020 to 1 May 2020, around 5,700 Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and Ship Men (ABK) have arrived in the country through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
 
The Indonesian repatriation flight is a flight that is allowed to operate in the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and Red Zone areas in accordance with the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 25 of 2020 concerning Transportation Control during the Eid Al-Fitr Mudik Period of 1441 Hijri in the context of Preventing the Spread of COVID-19.

This repatriation flight is generally carried out to take Indonesian citizens home from a country, where the country has imposed a ban on commercial flights or it is already difficult / no commercial flights for one reason or another.

Soekarno-Hatta itself is the largest airport in the country, which in the midst of this pandemic is still on standby operating 24 hours a day to maintain the connectivity of Indonesian air transportation both domestically and internationally.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Indonesian citizens who participated in repatriation flights would undergo health protocol handling COVID-19.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said intensive coordination was carried out with various stakeholders, in this case BP2MI (Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency), Regional Government Workers' Origin, Various Ministries and Institutions as well as other parties to ensure the repatriation process of Indonesian Citizens went smoothly at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport is on standby 24 hours to serve the repatriation logging and to welcome the return of Indonesian citizens in the country. We are coordinating intensively with relevant ministries including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transportation and the provincial government of the Indonesian citizen returning home by repatriation flights. "

"We also coordinate with BP2MI and the local government of origin of citizens who participated in repatriation, to prepare various needs such as rapid test testing at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Port Health Office (KKP) so that the repatriation process to its final destination in the province / city can run smoothly. and it also takes time, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

As for today, Saturday 2 May 2020, a repatriation flight with 262 Indonesian citizens from Saudi Arabia was carried out with the Saudia airline.

In the future there will still be a number of Indonesian repatriation flights returning to Soekarno-Hatta from a number of countries.

"In addition to being a focal point for cargo and logistical arrivals in the form of Medical Device assistance, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is also a major destination for Indonesian citizens' repatriation flights. We ensure that the entire process runs smoothly so that Indonesia can face the COVID-19 challenge well, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

International flights in Soekarno-Hatta, in the midst of this global pandemic, are all served in Terminal 3. At present, there are 40 to 50 numbers of international flight departures and arrivals every day.
