Establish Minimum Operating Status and Shorten Operating Hours, This Is the Aircraft Movement in April 2020 at PT Angkasa Pura II Airport

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has made operational adjustments since April 1, 2020 at 19 airports to keep airport operations maintained amid the global pandemic COVID-19.
 
Since that date, the majority of airports managed by the company have set a Minimum Operation status by optimizing facilities and the minimum number of personnel according to need.
 
In addition to the Minimum Operation, as many as 13 airports have also shortened operating hours.
 
As for after almost 2 weeks the status of the Minimum Operation has been established and coupled with a reduction in operating hours since the last few days, the average aircraft movement on 1-13 April 2020 at 19 airports recorded 698 per day. During this period, aircraft movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the largest airport in Indonesia, were around 328 flights / day.
 
The average aircraft movement in January - February 2020 in all PT Angkasa Pura II airports recorded 1,100 flights / day and in March 2020 there were 800 flights / day.
 
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that in April the frequency of flights was indeed quite reduced because the public increasingly understood the importance of social distancing in breaking the chain of the spread of Covid-19.
 
"People obey the call to stay at home and not travel, so that the traffic traffic is reduced."
 
"On April 10, DKI Jakarta PSBB has also been determined and will soon follow in Depok, Bogor, Bekasi and Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang. The reduced flight frequency has been estimated because it is indeed needed to break the chain of distribution of COVID-19, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
 
 
PT Angkasa Pura II Airport Operations in the middle of the PSBB
 
Muhammad Awaluddin said that all PT Angkasa Pura II airports were ready when the PSBB was implemented, for example Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma which accelerated the implementation of DKI Jakarta and Banten PSBB (Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, South Tangerang).
 
The Minister of Health has also approved the PSBB in Pekanbaru, where in the region curfew restrictions apply from 20.00 - 05.00 WIB.
 
"For Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru, since 10 April 2020 operational hours are shortened to 06.00-20.00 WIB from 06.00-24.00 WIB so that it is in accordance with the PSBB. We will see the possibility if indeed operational hours must be shortened again, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
 
Meanwhile, the Governor of West Java will also propose the implementation of PSBB in Greater Bandung (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi, West Bandung). The proposal is planned to be submitted on April 15 or April 16, 2020.
 
The main airport serving Bandung Raya residents is Husein Sastranegara, managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.
 
At present Husein Sastranegara has also set the Minimum Operation status and shortened the operating hours to 06.00-19.00 WIB from the previous 06.00-21.00 WIB, so that later it can accelerate the implementation of the PSBB.
 
Muhammad Awaluddin said in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic the most important thing was the readiness of PT Angkasa Pura II airports to maintain air transport connectivity to support efforts to overcome COVID-19.
 
"Airports have an important role in supporting air transportation connectivity, especially in the midst of this pandemic. Even though operational hours are shortened, PT Angkasa Pura II airports remain on standby to serve special conditions such as logistical aid flights, sending test samples related to COVID-19, and so on, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
