Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) adjusted operating hours at 12 airports in order to optimize services and support the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
The airports are Kertajati (Majalengka), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh), Tjilik Riwut (Palangkaraya) and Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Radin Inten II (Lampung), Supadio (Pontianak), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru) and Banyuwangi,
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airports were operating with shorter time than normal conditions.
This policy has been approved by the regulator with the issuance of Notice to Airmen regarding operating hours for each airport.
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that although operational hours were shortened, the airports would remain on standby to anticipate a number of flights in special conditions.
"Operational hours at 12 airports have been shortened in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, however PT Angkasa Pura II remains on standby when there are aircraft that experience technical and operational constraints and require the airport to land. We are also on standby if there are medical-related flights and logistical flights especially those carrying COVID-19 infection substance samples. ”
"In addition, the airport is still open if there are planes that are forced to land outside the airport operating hours because for example there is a delay in the departure at the origin and so forth," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that shortened operational hours could maintain the health aspects of travelers and airport personnel.
"In this challenging period due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the most important thing is the health and safety of the traveler and airport personnel. We have adjusted operational patterns and adjusted operating hours to enable the implementation of the work from home and physical distribution concepts for operational personnel at the airport, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

3. Supadio (Pontianak)

4. Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru)

Muhammad Awaluddin said that 7 other PT Angkasa Pura II airports are still operating with normal operating hours by seeing the latest developments.
"Like Soekarno-Hatta, Halim Perdanakusuma and Kualanamu still operate 24 hours."
PT Angkasa Pura II also adjusted operational patterns at managed airports. Operational patterns that can be determined at each airport are Normal Operation, Slow Down Operation, Minimum Operation and Terminate Operation.
Determination of the operational pattern was carried out by considering trends in aircraft passenger movements and flight frequency at each airport.
Through existing operational patterns, each airport can optimize its facilities and personnel in the midst of a global pandemic COVID-19.
