Soekarno-Hatta Airport Operations and Halim Perdanakusuma Fulfill DKI Jakarta PSBB Regulations

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Tangerang) and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (Jakarta) continue to operate when the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) take effect in DKI Jakarta starting Friday, April 10, 2020.

Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma are the main airports in Jabodetabek, as well as being a center of daily activities for the citizens of Jakarta and surrounding areas.

Following this, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) ensured that the operations of the two airports were in line with the implementation of the PSBB, including operating with a minimum number of employees and prioritizing and carrying out efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma since April 1, 2020 had been operating with the Minimum Operation status from the previous Normal Operation.

As is known, the Minimum Operation implementation in Soekarno-Hatta is the operational limitation of Terminal 1 by only opening Sub Terminal 1A, and in Terminal 2 by only opening 2D and 2E Sub Terminals. While Terminal 3 remains fully open. Halim Perdanakusuma has also simplified passenger lines in the terminal.

"The Minimum Operation status allows operational personnel to work from home [work from home / WFH]. Every day, operational personnel in Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma who conduct WFH range from 30-40% of the total operational personnel. "

"Cumulatively, operational and administrative personnel at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, and PT Angkasa Pura II Headquarters who run WFH currently reach 2,284 people," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

In accordance with Attachment to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 9/2020 concerning Guidelines for Large-Scale Social Restrictions in the Framework of Accelerating Handling of COVID-19, airports including public utilities are exempt from workplace safeguards and must operate with a minimum number of employees and prioritize the prevention of the spread of pests according to the protocol in workplace.

"With the implementation of the Minimum Operation and WFH standards, Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma are ready operationally when the PSBB in Jakarta is implemented," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, PT Angkasa Pura II also ensures the availability of public transportation, especially land transportation, both for workers and passengers who have just landed.

"We will ensure the availability of public transportation such as Damri buses, shuttle buses, travel, taxis and others with the number of passengers adjusted to create physical distancing," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said a contingency plan related to the availability of public transportation was also prepared by PT Angkasa Pura II in accordance with developments.

"What is clear, we will ensure the availability of public transportation in Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport
The average flight in January 2020 is still normal, and in line with the implementation of social distancing seriously by the community as recommended by the government starting in March 2020, the average flight on 1-8 April 2020 becomes 300 flights / day.

Scheduled airlines currently operating:
Terminal 1: Lion Air, Trigana Air, Airfast
Terminal 2: Batik Air, Sriwijaya Air, NAM Air, Citilink
Terminal 3: Garuda Indonesia (domestic & international), China Airlines, EVA Air, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airway, Singapore Airlines, Asiana Airlines

The number of scheduled airlines currently in operation is 14, or has decreased from normal conditions. A number of international airlines decided to stop operating as a result of the global pandemic COVID-19.

Public transport operators such as Damri make adjustments by reducing around 50% of the fleet. More fleet reduction has an impact on the headway (bus arrival time is longer), while the routes served are not reduced much.

In addition, Railink will temporarily stop operating the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train.
The frequency of train travel has been gradually reduced in which on 1-18 March 2020 there were 70 trips, then reduced to only 4 trips on 10-11 April 2020. In the end, train operations were stopped temporarily from 12 April to 31 May 2020.

Halim Perdanakusuma Airport
In line with the fulfillment of government recommendations so that people do not travel in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic, the average flight will be 92 flights / day on 1-8 April 2020 after normal conditions in January 2020.

Citilink, Batik Air and Susi Air are three scheduled airlines that operate in normal conditions up this time.

Public transportation is still available, namely Damri buses, travel transportation, taxis and online taxis.
