Jakarta - The spread of COVID-19 is becoming a global challenge, and health is indeed a priority for all of us.
Correspondingly, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), the manager of 19 airports in Indonesia, provides more points to wash hands in public areas, at airports managed by the company.
The addition of a hand washing area equipped with hand washing soap was carried out among others in the motorized parking area, pickup area, airport visitor waiting area, the area close to the baggage trolley pick up point, and other public areas.
The new handwashing area complements existing handwashing stations in all toilets at the airport, both those in public areas and at the passenger terminal of the aircraft.
In addition, there are also many hand sanitizer points inside the airport passenger terminal for travelers or airport visitors.
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said there were more points to wash hands so that the travers or visitors of the airport would be easier to wash their hands so as to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
"Health is a top priority. We sincerely hope we can carry out the suggestion to wash our hands as often as possible in order to protect the health of all travelers, visitors, the wider community and personnel of PT Angkasa Pura II and other agencies serving at the airport. Together we fight and prevent the spread of COVID-19. "
"In addition to adding a point to wash hands, PT Angkasa Pura II airports also expand the area of disinfecting liquid spraying as our effort to prevent the spread of the virus," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that previously spraying of disinfectants was carried out in all areas of the passenger terminal of the aircraft, public areas, then to the passengers' luggage, so now spraying of disinfectant liquids was also carried out on the air side (airside).
Spraying is done by jet sprayer and using a disinfectant liquid containing the active ingredient hydrogen peroxida.
"We hope that the airside can be sterile from the virus, as we have endeavored to sterilize the area of the airplane's passenger terminal, office area, and other public areas," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
The airports under PT Angkasa Pura II also have implemented the concept of social distancing in several areas, especially at the gathering place for airplane passengers such as during the check-in process, security checks, when in the boarding lounge, to when processing boarding to the aircraft.
